Imperfectly Human: A Transparent Walk With Mr. Daley

In this episode of the Imperfectly Human podcast, Mr Daley welcomes back his former co-host, Dr Johnson, for a discussion on taking the leap of faith as an entrepreneur.

Show Notes

14 years ago, I took the leap of leaving my permanent role with a well-defined career path, prospects for management and beyond, a regular paycheck, benefits and bonuses. Looking from the outside in, it looked like a crazy decision to leave that world to step into the world of entrepreneurship.
The decision was not really that difficult for me as I had a major client lined up and I was heading into a 3-month project with the client so it didn't feel too dissimilar to what I was leaving behind. The reality hit me when I wasn't feeling well and I needed time off, or I needed time off to handle something or I needed a vacation, basically, any time I needed time off. There was a financial cost as I couldn't invoice for any client time.
The experience is far different for other people who are stepping into the realm of entrepreneurship and whilst I have been self-employed for a long time, I haven't really made the giant leap to the next level because I have created a safety net at the level that I am at. So what does it feel like to leap out of a plane without a parachute? Well, we can only find out from someone who has first-hand experience. So I am sitting down with Dr Terrence Johnson, co-founder of iProgress, and discussing his experience.
