There is a big difference between guilt and shame: Guilt says, "I made a mistake." Shame says, "I am a mistake."
When we find ourselves struggling, what do we do? Last night we began a discussion about mental health. It wasn't all-inclusive, but it was a great reminder that our experiences matter because they shape the way we view God, and that we can make a choice to allow the gospel to rewrite our false narratives.
