The Brum Picture Show Podcast

To tie in with the release of Priscilla and Poor Things, we thought it would be appropriate to talk about our favourite “strong female characters” from cinema and whether or not this is a meaningful phrase to describe movie heroines. Spoiler alert: Not really.

Alongside reviews of the aforementioned films, we’ll be discussing the feminist credentials of Broadcast News, Kill Bill Vol.1, and Midsommar, so this is an episode sure to make everyone feel empowered!

Note: This episode was recorded before the Oscar nominations were announced.
