People often ask me one question:
Who is the boss in your family?
This is a good question.
But the answer is not easy.
But what is a boss? It is a person who controls or is in charge. In a company, the boss is the man or woman at the top. 
In my family, many people think they are the boss.
First, my father says he is the boss. 
He works a lot and comes home late.
He says, “I pay for the house.”
He decides when we go on holiday.
He also decides when we fix things in the house.
So yes, maybe my father is the boss.
But my mother does not agree.
My mother decides many things every day.
She determines what we eat.
She determines when we eat.
She determines what we watch on TV.
If my mother is not happy, nobody is happy.
So I think my mother is also the boss.
Then there is my older sister. 
She says she is not the boss, but she acts like one.
She tells me what to wear.
She tells me when to study.
She tells me when I am wrong.
She is very confident.
Maybe she is the boss of me.
And then there is me.
I am not the boss.
I listen to everyone.
I do what they say.
But sometimes, I choose the music in the car. 
When I choose the music, I feel like the boss.
But only for a short time.
Finally, we have our dog. 
His name is Max.
Max does not talk, but he controls the family.
He decides when we wake up.
He decides when we go for a walk.
When Max is hungry, everyone knows.
So maybe… Max is the real boss.
So who is the boss in my family?
My father thinks it is him.
My mother knows it is her.
My sister acts like it is her.
But I think the boss is our dog.
