Brooklyn, USA

#BHeardAmplified is a new BRIC initiative that meets emerging producers where they live and gives them the tools and the know-how to tell the stories that they think matter most. Producer Sriyanka Ray and media artist Nicole Solomon spent eight weeks in Brownsville as part of a collaboration with The Neighborhood Opportunity Network (NeON) teaching a small group of students how to develop a podcast. This month, we’re sharing stories from 7 of Brooklyn’s newest audio-makers.

What is Brooklyn, USA?

Brooklyn, USA is a podcast that blends short documentary, hyperlocal journalism, personal narratives, sound art and audiovisual experimentation to reflect the diversity and beauty of our borough. We deliver New York stories told by the people who live them, and cover issues that impact our community in its own voice. #BKUSA
