Jeff showed us the first capital of Wisconsin, Belmont, Madison's founding father James Doty a friend of the Astor Family who named the capital after James Madison. The amazing State Capital layout built on an ancient mound complex and its complex symbolism within the capital dome, The Goddess Columbia who has a place on top pf the capital dome. We looked at mounds that used to exist where a mental institute now exists. We marveled at Water Panther Effigy which inspired a retelling of lore surrounding local lake monsters, UFO's and disappearing airmen. We find out that Bascom Hall at UW which is built on an Ancient Burial Mound site. The Madison Morpher rears its ugly head in the latter half of our tour.
