Patty Goodman Hayward is the Associate Teaching Professor of two graduate programs at Northeastern University: Corporate and Organizational Communication and Human Resource Management. In this Digication Scholars Conversation, Patty and host, Kelly Driscoll, discuss implementing ePortfolio in these two programs, and the variety of approaches that students in each program bring to their ePortfolios. As Patty shares, these differences in approach are indicative of diverse talents and perspectives which must be taken into consideration when assigning and evaluating student ePortfolios. “I think it's very important, especially in the adult learning process, that the learner should be in control of what it is that they're learning, and then how they're going to actually demonstrate and show that they've learned it..” Patty recounts the process of first introducing ePortfolios on campus, and how student work groups were used to gather feedback along the way in order to create a learner centered approach. As Patty explains, the relationships formed in these student work groups have continued to prove fruitful. that they are co-editing.
