Carlsbad: People, Purpose and Impact

Explore the inspiring work and impactful programs of The Community Resource Center, as they empower individuals and families against homelessness and more. In this episode, discover how the Community Resource Center, under the leadership of CEO John Van Cleef, is making a real difference in the lives of individuals and families across North County. Through their award-winning work, CRC is creating a stronger, more resilient community and turns stories of temporary misfortune into stories of resilience and transformation. The Community Resource Center does it all, with initiatives addressing food insecurity through programs like Fresh Rescue, and partnerships with Feeding San Diego and the San Diego Food Bank. They collect good food from local stores, then distribute it through their pantry, allowing individuals to select items according to their preferences. CRC also tackles the difficult problems of homelessness and domestic violence intervention and prevention, with case management and ongoing support to those individuals in need. It’s easy to see why they’re the recipients of this year’s CBAD Non-Profit of the Year Award, as their inspiring work has helped so many people. With offices in Encinitas, Carlsbad, and San Marcos - along with their three thrift stores - they now serve more people in multiple communities. Tune in, and enjoy, an uplifting episode.
