For those who embrace it, we call that feeling Main Street SwaggerTM and we designed a whole collection to celebrate that feeling.
What is Main Street Swagger?
Main Street Swagger comes in many forms.
Do you get dressed up, or put on a specially-selected outfit for your first walk on Main Street? Maybe it’s a special shirt or a special Mickey headband or Mickey ears. Even kids in strollers can rock Main Street Swagger in their own way. We’ve seen it all over the years.
Main Street Swagger can be dapper, Disney themed or a vacation vibe. Main Street Swagger can involve:
- Stopping for that must-have Main Street photo of you with the castle in the backgroud.
- Rocking a coffee as you swagger up Main Street in style...soaking it all in.
- Stopping by the Emporium or Crystal Arts to see what you can add to your outfit to enhance your swagger with something new.
There’s Main Street Swagger in all of that.
But Main Street Swagger isn’t just about what you wear, it’s how you wear it. That swagger is the feeling of magic in your step. That “I’m home” state-of-mind.
The Inspiration for Main Street Swagger at 1923 Main Street
The inspiration for the Main Street Swagger phrase and collection came from a single photo.
There’s a photo of Mike Belobradic (1923 Main Street founder) from 1984. Mike has always had Main Street Swagger and this particular photo captured it all. It led the creation of the “Main Street Swagger” phrase and clothing that was born out of that.
The photo features Mike walking with swagger up Main Street U.S.A. in March 1984,wearing a tiger-striped black and white shirt, complete with tropical flowers within the design. Everyone around him in the photo is wearing a plain solid-colored shirt. Mike definitely stands out with swagger. It was a bold move and the genesis for how the Main Street Swagger collection came to be.
Main Street Swagger means not caring about the world around you as you make your way up Main Street U.S.A. and into the magic. You’re home and the magic is within you.
That’s what Main Street Swagger is all about.
