The Impactful Leadership Show

There are so many misconceptions around leadership and today’s guest has three he’d like to squash. Sami Benchekroun is the Co-Founder & CEO of Morressier and a founding member of the Edtech Founders Club. Sami shared who should be making decisions in your company, why you need to hold your team high, and how to recognize the strongest leaders in your business.

Takeaways:
Every decision should not be made by the leader of an organization. The leader should set the guardrails and allow their team to make their own decisions.
Instead of building yourself up as a hero, alone atop a mountain, you should elevate your team and put them on top of the mountain.
The strongest leaders are not necessarily people who manage others rather they are usually the ones mastering their craft and showcasing their abilities every day.
While finding the exact moment to hand over ownership of a process is very difficult, a sign you’re getting close is when you start to see some repeatability in the process.
Hiring plays such a critical role in the success of a business, especially a new business. Entrepreneurial-minded people are able to wear many different hats and fill in whichever role you need them to.
The more time you spend in the recruiting process taking closer looks at applicants, the better off your business will be. The extra time you spend evaluating talent, the higher quality talent you will find and put in the right role.
As soon as you add a management layer and start managing people who are managing other people, you need to really think about who can drive initiatives within the company and put those people on the mountaintop with their superhero costumes.
