समानवृत्तिकौ आवां भ्रातरौ

ईश्वरचन्द्रविद्यासागरः महाविद्वान् परमदयालुः आसीत् । कदाचित् महाविद्यालयस्य पार्श्वे शयानः कश्चित् कर्मकरः ज्वरेन पीडितः आसीत् ।  तं गृहं नीत्वा वैद्यम् आनाय्य तस्य शरीरस्य मार्जनं, वस्त्रपरिवर्तनम् इत्यादिकं च ईश्वरचन्द्रविद्यासागरेण स्वयमेव कृतम् । एतादृशं व्यवहारं दृष्ट्वा यदा कश्चित् बन्धुः अपृच्छत् - 'किं एषः भवतः बन्धुः ?’ तदा विद्यासागरः वदति - ‘आम्, एषः मम बन्धुः। मया ज्ञानसाहाय्येन अन्तरङ्गस्य स्वच्छता क्रियते । एषः सम्मार्जन्यादिना बाह्यस्वच्छतां करोति । अतः आवां समानवृत्तिकौ । अतः एषः मम भ्राता' इति ।

Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was a great scholar and very compassionate. One day, near the college, a worker was lying down suffering from fever. Vidyasagar took him home, called a doctor, cleaned his body, changed his clothes, and did everything himself. When a relative saw this and asked, ‘Is he your relative?’. Vidyasagar replied, ‘Yes, he is my relative. I purify the inner self with knowledge and he cleans the outer body with sweeping. Therefore, we both have the same role. Hence, he is my brother’.

What is बालमोदिनी?

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
