      "body": "Hello, and welcome to Daily ish for 09/10/2026. I'm recording an episode every day for this, my fiftieth year on the planet. I'm back already with another Petty Grievances episode, partially because my usual recording method is being goofy, and also because I've updated my app a little bit, I wanna test it out to see if it still works. So here goes nothing. I do the morning drop off for two kids in high school this year, and the way parents drive around the the high school is crazy sometimes, and it honestly wasn't much different in elementary school either."

      "body": "I'm a pretty hard stickler when it comes to, we have 30 kilometer hour zones around schools, and I think that's reasonable. We're all driving around in motorized couches basically, and I think we can go slower because it costs us almost nothing to speed up after the school zone is done, and rather than putting kids at risk, other parents at risk, students, teachers, etcetera, just drive a little slower. Seems pretty easy to me. But some parents just blast through those zones, like their rush, their hurry is more important than everyone else's safety. They also drop their kids off and send them running across the street instead of going to the crosswalk."

      "body": "I know I'm a bit of a weirdo for saying kids and parents should cross at crosswalks, even when I know it's sometimes annoying, and sometimes I skip the line when it's not a busy street, but when it's drop off time, there's cars going every direction all at once, and some are stopping, and some are going around, and all that kind of stuff, it just feels like ripe for disaster. So I just play it safe. I'm also a weirdo in that I drive a truck, but I do not think that I own the road just because I have a truck. I take my time and I'm extra cautious, specifically because I have a truck. I know that it's a F-one 150, and on the medium large side, as far as trucks go, it's not boosted or anything in height, but I know that for a kid in high school even, it's pretty easy to disappear under that front hood and dash."

      "body": "So anyways, burning U turns in the middle of a street crossing across three lanes of traffic just to go a different way, making everyone wait for you to drop your kid off at a spot that's clearly not where kids are supposed to be dropped off, using a loop in front of the school that's actually been, at least in the past was told not to be a school drop off zone, but tons of parents wait for that as if their high schooler needs to be dropped off right next to the door. That's the part that kind of drives me insane is you're dropping off a grade 10, grade 11 kid, and they have to be at the door, they can't be dropped off across the street, or down the street even, where it's way less congested. In summary of this pedigreement, this episode, I'm not really even calling for changes to the laws, I'm just asking for parents to actually obey the law that's already in place, it's not even that strict, and it's like school zones are pretty short. If you're not a parent, you're driving through a school zone. Here in Saskatchewan now, it's a school zone regardless of the time of year, just between, I think it's 08:00 and 06:00, I forget where it is exactly, but just slow down."

      "body": "It's not a big deal. You just push the little gas pedal when you're done. The school's on, and you go faster again. You don't have to work harder to drive slower, and work harder. It's not like you're riding a bike."

      "body": "Slow down, obey the traffic laws, don't send your kids across busy intersections, don't pull your turn right in the middle of a road, and just don't exhaust me when you're and just don't exhaust me with your driving. Simple. Anyways, someone encouraged me, I forget where the comment was now, to, add more petty grievance episodes, and so I thought, oh, might as well do it right away. Like to give the people what they want. Anyways, thank you for listening wherever you are in the world."
