Get your ears around this one as it's a bumper Irish cinema edition of our podcast with talk on everything like Frank, Calvary, The Stag, The Guard, Mrs. Brown's Boys and Adam & Paul!
The May podcast takes a special look at Irish movies in 2014 as we try to work out whether we’re living in some sort of golden age or if it’s just coincidence that there are so many popular home-grown titles at the moment. Up for discussion are (deep breath)… Frank, Calvary, Run & Jump, The Stag, Living in a Coded Land, The Sea, Last Days on Mars, Patrick’s Day, Out of Here and Mrs. Brown’s Boys D’Movie. Following on from this we relay some of the talking points of the IFI’s Spotlight event which was held a few weeks ago to try and get a sense of the current state of Ireland’s film and TV industry.
And as usual there’s a whole tonne of reviews and previews to behold as we also look back on The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Noah, Tracks, Locke and Transcendence and look ahead to X-Men: Days of Future Past and Postman Pat.
And finally we pay tribute to Adam & Paul on its 10th anniversary with our closing “Scene It” scene.
