How to Experience the Blessing of God Through the Bible
2 Timothy 3:14-17 (ESV)
(Timothy) “Continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (ESV)
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints, and marrow; (cutting deep) it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
How do you approach the scriptures to receive the blessing of God?
1. Stand in awe of His word.
“You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me.”
2. Kneel in submission to His word.
“Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”
3. Walk in the illumination of His word.
Psalm 119:105 (ESV)
“Your word is a light to my feet and a light to my Path”
Proverbs 4:20-27 (ESV)
“My son, be attentive to my words;
incline your ear to my sayings.
Let them not escape from your sight;
keep them within your heart.
For they are life to those who find them,
and healing to all their flesh.
Keep your heart with all vigilance,
for from it flow the springs of life.
Put away from you crooked speech,
and put devious talk far from you.
Let your eyes look directly forward,
and your gaze be straight before you.
Ponder the path of your feet;
then all your ways will be sure.
Do not swerve to the right or to the left;
turn your foot away from evil.”
