“But even when we are paying cash, we are giving up the interest that that money could have earned if it would have been in a better environment. So even when we're saving up to pay cash, we're losing out on the opportunity costs on those dollars. The other side of that is we're always making payments to someone. We're making payments to the bank when we're borrowing, but when we are saving up, either sporadically or systematically, we are making payments to ourselves for a future purchase. So, if you can take hold of those ideas and wrap your mind around this idea of, ‘I can be the borrower and the lender simultaneously,’ like that is a powerful process when I get to control both sides of those things.”
