The Light of Hope 
 
Luke 2:25-27 (NIV) 
 
Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, 
 
Light shines the brightest 
in the darkest of times 
 
1) Live with Expectation 
 
Luke 2:25a (NIV)

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; 
in the morning I lay my requests before you 
and wait expectantly.

and therefore I have hope: 
 
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, 
for his compassions never fail. 
They are new every morning; 
great is your faithfulness. 
 
2) Lean into Holy Spirit 
 
Luke 2:25b (NIV) 
 
and the Holy Spirit was on him [Simeon]. 
 
2 Corinthians 1:22 (NIV) 
 
set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 
 
3) Listen to Holy Spirit 
 
Luke 2:26 (NIV)

He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 
 
4) Led by Holy Spirit
