यशस्वितासूत्रम्

कश्चन गुरुः यशस्वितामार्गं ज्ञातुम् इच्छन्तं शिष्यं महाराजस्य समीपं प्रेषयति । सुखभोगवातावरणे लीनः राजा कथं मां बोधयति इति चिन्तयति शिष्यः । भटाः शिष्यम् अतिथिप्रकोष्ठं नीतवन्तः । तत्र मृदुतल्पः, विविधाः फलखाद्यादिव्यवस्थाः आसन् । यदा शिष्यः शयनम् अकरोत् तदा तेन स्वशिरोभागे लम्बमानः कश्चन तीक्ष्णः खड्गः लक्षितः । समग्रां रात्रिं खड्गं पश्यन् एव अयापयत् सः शिष्यः । परेद्यवि राजा अवदत् 'आस्थाने भोगमये वातावरणे तिष्ठतः अपि मम दृष्टिः तु भवति स्वकर्तव्ये एव । कर्तव्ये यः दत्तदृष्टिः भवेत् तेन सर्वत्र यशः प्राप्येत एव' इति ।

A teacher sent his student to a king to learn the path of success. The student wondered how a pleasure-loving king could teach him. The guards took him to a guest chamber with a soft bed and many fruits. When he lay down, he noticed a sharp sword hanging above his head and spent the whole night watching it in fear. The next day, the king explained: “Even while living amidst luxury, my focus always remains on my duty. One who keeps his attention fixed on his duty will surely attain success everywhere.”

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
