First Baptist Church of Athens, Georgia offers devotions for Advent prepared by our members. The devotion begins with the music of Greensleeves, played on flutes by Sarah DelBene, followed by a reading from a daily carol, then a personal reflection on the question, “What brings you hope this Advent and Christmas season? The carol reading today is verse 3 from Now the Heavens Start to Whisper, read by Jon Millians; the personal reflection is from Sandy Sanders.

What is Open to Explore Devotions?

Open to Explore Devotions from FBC Athens offers seasonal podcasts for the Advent and Christmas season, and the Lent and Easter season each year. Men and women in our congregation prepare these sharing their experiences of life and faith. Special themed series are also offered during the year which have a scripture reference and brief reflection.
