Reading 2 Samuel Chapter 14

Joab gets a woman from Tekoa to come manipulate David into deciding to let Absalom back into Jerusalem. David concedes, but won't let Absalom into his presence. When Joab won't respond to Absalom pestering him about this, Absalom has Joab's barley field set on fire. Joab then gets David to acknowledge Absalom in person. Read from the World English Bible.
