Olvie 李 (she/keoi) was born from migrants of Hong Kong, and raised on Turtle Island. She moved to Lekwungen Territories to complete her masters degree in Social Dimensions of Health at UVic. Her project focuses on youth-led research with Indigenous youth about sexuality and sexual wellness in Wiikwemkoong, a community she calls home and has lived/worked within. She is also a nurse, birth/postpartum doula, and is always interested in radical healing work amongst racialized communities. Olvie is an experienced Public Health Nurse, skilled in Health Education/Promotion, Sexual Health, Immunizations, and Community Health
In the last episode of season 9 of Beyond the Jargon, Olvie shares her perspective as a graduate student and brings light to the importance of community-based and participatory action research approaches.
