Show Notes

In the talk it is pointed out that karma is the law of Love in action, and does not just concern individual karma, but also group, national and international karma. The entire process of reincarnation is bound by karma, plus incorporating the concept of a Soul, which causes the continuation of the consciousness-stream into successive individuals. Such things as deja vu, intuition and prescient awareness, are explainable because of the factor of karma. A law of physics is presented as: ‘to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction’. This implicates the way that karma works, in that with karma the result of the karmic action is to receive exactly the same as what was metred out, in thought, word or deed. The ‘opposite reaction’ of the effect of the action upon others is what rebounds upon one, in this or a later life to produce the karmic effect. In considering the Buddhist concept of śūnyatā (Emptiness) karma is considered ‘extinguished’ in that state, as it is not created therein, for śūnyatā is empty of volitions. However, those that have realised this state will still have to work off the remnant karma from former lives, as Bodhisattvas, when consciousness moves again into the empirical mind. They will generally create no further karma, but will work off the results of former actions via their compassionate service work.
