कर्मयोगिनी अहल्याबाई

कदाचित् मालवादेशस्य नृपतिः सुबेदारः मल्हाररावहोलकरः, पट्टमहिषी गौतमबायी, तनयः खण्डेरावहोलकरः च 'चौण्डि' नामके ग्रामे प्रवासरतः आसन् । तदा कस्यचन देवालयस्य कलशस्थापनार्थं राज्ञी समाहूता । यदा पूजाकार्याणि आरब्धानि तदा सहसा तत्र जलोद्भवः अभवत् । यदा राज्ञी अर्चकैः सूचिते गर्ते पवित्रां शिलां स्थापयितुम् ऐच्छत् तदा कस्याश्चित् बालिकायाः ध्वनिः श्रुतः 'स्थग्यतां महाराज्ञि ! ग्रामे कुत्रापि पेयजलस्य स्त्रोतः नास्ति, अत्र कूपं पुष्करिणीं वा निर्मास्यामः' इति । औचित्यपूर्णं कथनं श्रुत्वा पुष्करिणीं निमातुं सुबेदारः आदिशत् । बालिकायाः धैर्यं दृष्ट्वा सः तां स्वस्नुषां अकरोत् । सा एव प्रातस्स्मरणीया राज्ञी अहल्याबायीहोलकरः ।

Once, the ruler of Malwa, Subedar Malharrao Holkar, along with his queen Gautamabai and son Khanderao Holkar, was residing in the village of Chaundi. The queen was invited for a temple ceremony to install a sacred finial. During the rituals, a water spring emerged. When she wished to place a sacred stone, a brave girl suggested building a pond instead, as the village lacked drinking water. Impressed, Subedar Malharrao Holkar ordered the pond’s construction and later made the girl his daughter-in-law. She became the revered queen Ahilyabai Holkar.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
