The Impactful Leadership Show

Discover the kind of ship that you are leading and whether that fits your employees and customers. Bruno’s entrepreneurial journey began in France and at the age of 16, he started offering to create websites for local companies. From these early experiences, Bruno learned skills, like resilience and perseverance, that have stuck with him to this day. You’ll learn about the different kinds of leaders that you can be, where leadership comes from, and why listening to your employees is so important.

Takeaways:
When thinking about leadership, you need to think about what kind of ship you want to lead. Is it a galley with many people working diligently or perhaps a cruise ship where everyone is happy to be there? Which ship do your customers and employees prefer?
As a leader, the way you frame a task and the words you choose to communicate with are very important and play a large role in how you are perceived by your followers.
A good leader is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast, is not proud. It does not dishonor others. It is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongdoings.
Good leaders will recognize that in order to make their ship go forward or their company grow, they need to invest time and resources into helping their team grow and develop as people.
Leadership does not come from a place of authority, it comes from a place of love. For entrepreneurs, this is both the love of their company and the love of their employees.
Find the passions of your employees by listening to them. When listening to them, you will likely discover some of their fears as well, so try to help them through those fears and remember to keep listening.
Consider asking your employees, “What do you do outside of work?” This question can help you find the passions of your employees while listening to them.
