Reading 2 Samuel Chapter 18

David organizes his army under his main three commanders and plans to go to battle with them, but they ask him to stay in the city. Absalom ends up getting caught in a tree so that he is hanging there unable to get loose. When Joab hears of it, he stabs Absalom in the heart multiple times. Ten of his armor bearers join in the execution, then they bury Absalom in a deep pit. When David is told of Absalom's death, he says he wishes he had died instead. Read from the World English Bible.
