ज्ञानोदयः

कदाचित् कश्चन संन्यासी दूरयात्रां कुर्वन् रात्रिः जातः इति कारणेन नर्तक्याः कलावत्याः गृहस्य अङ्गणं प्रविश्य वितर्दिकायां शयनम् अकरोत् । अनन्तरदिने उषसि कञ्चन कोलाहलं श्रुत्वा संन्यासी जागरितः अभवत् । कोऽपि जनः मृतः आसीत् । कलावती षड्वर्षीयां पुत्रीम् आहूय 'भवती गत्वा ज्ञात्वा आगच्छतु यत् इदानीं मृतः स्वर्गं गतः उत नरकम्' इति । संन्यासी आश्चर्येण कलावत्यां पृच्छति कथं एतत् ज्ञातुं शक्यते इति । तदा कलावती अवदत् 'यदि जनैः मृतस्य जनस्य विषये उत्तमः अभिप्रायः प्रकट्यते तर्हि मृतः स्वर्गं गतः इति निर्णयः । यदि जनाः नीचवचनैः तं निन्दन्ति तर्हि सः नरकं गतः इति निर्णयः' इति ।

One night, a wandering sage stopped at the courtyard of a dancer named Kalavati to rest. At dawn, he woke to a commotion—someone had passed away. Kalavati called her six-year-old daughter and asked her to find out whether the deceased had gone to heaven or hell. Curious, the sage asked how such a thing could be known. Kalavati explained, “If people speak well of the deceased, it means they have gone to heaven. If they criticize them with harsh words, it means they have gone to hell”. Hearing this, the sage reflected deeply on her wisdom.

What is बालमोदिनी?

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
