In this episode, Jennie Gilbert is back for her fifth episode to share her insights on ‘quiet quitting’. While this is a relatively new term, quiet quitting has been called other things in the past. Jennie helps you understand what it really means from the perspective of leadership and employees. She breaks down how workplace culture, career changes, and the pandemic might have played a role in the reemergence of “pulling back” in the workplace.

Show Notes

Trends come and go, but ignoring a conversation everyone is taking part in demonstrates a lack of care. Employees want to be seen, heard and valued and are emboldened to take new risks if they don’t receive those things. Quiet quitting requires organizations to take a step back and examine their culture and people practices, including at the senior level (who are not immune to pulling back). As we continue to navigate what the ‘new normal’ looks like, leaders must be willing to have candid conversations with their team to see if this trend is within their organization and what needs to be done to ensure connection and value for all.
