When people remember the "Lululemon Murder," they often remember the headlines.
They remember the yoga pants.
They remember the shocking crime scene.
What they often don't remember is Jayna Troxel Murray.
On March 11, 2011, Jayna was finishing a routine closing shift at a Lululemon store in Bethesda, Maryland. After discovering that a coworker had stolen merchandise during a required employee bag check, she did exactly what integrity demanded—she reported it. Less than an hour later, Jayna returned to the store to help that same coworker retrieve a supposedly forgotten wallet.
She never came home.
Investigators initially believed they were searching for two masked killers responsible for one of the most brutal workplace murders in modern American history. But as detectives meticulously examined blood evidence, footprints, alarm records, DNA, medical findings, and witness testimony, an elaborate deception unraveled piece by piece.
In this victim-centered episode of Dark Dialogue, we examine:
• Who Jayna Troxel Murray really was
• The timeline inside the Lululemon store
• The forensic evidence that dismantled a fabricated story
• How investigators exposed one of true crime's most infamous staged crime scenes
• The trial, conviction, and lasting legacy of Jayna Murray
More importantly, we honor a remarkable woman whose life was defined by kindness, integrity, courage, and an unwavering commitment to doing the right thing.
Because victims deserve to be remembered for how they lived—not simply how they died.
