Supporting Nebraska

For Nizar Rasho, vice president for community-based services at Lutheran Family Services, the mission of refugee and immigrant support is deeply personal. He came to the U.S. as a refugee himself and was resettled through LFS in 2017. Now, he helps lead the very department that once aided him. Rasho shares his drive for working in an immigration and refugee organization.

What is Supporting Nebraska?

These four episodes discuss the drive behind members of four immigration and refugee services in Nebraska: Lincoln Literacy, Lutheran Family Services, ECHO Collective and the Asian Community and Cultural Center. These audio stories complement a print piece published on the Nebraska News Service website, "The drive behind immigrant and refugee services in Nebraska" by Ariana Garber.
