गर्वभङ्गः शनिदेवस्य

कदाचित् रामनामजपं कुर्वन्तम् आञ्जनेयं शनिदेवः गर्वेण युद्धाय आह्वयते । गुरुपुत्रेण सह अहं युद्धं न करोमि इति युद्धप्रस्तावननिराकुर्वन्तम् आञ्जनेयं शनिः मुष्ट्या प्रहृतवान् । अनन्यगतिकया आञ्जनेयः स्वपुच्छेन शनिं बद्ध्वा शिलानाम् उपरि गर्तेषु च नीतवान् । शनेः देहः क्षतविक्षतः जातः । शनेः प्रार्थनानन्तरं तं मोचयित्वा, तैलमर्दनेन पीडाम् अपनीतवान् आञ्जनेयः । ततः प्रभृति शनिदेवस्य तैलसमर्पणप्रथा आरब्धा ।

Once, Shanideva invited Hanuman, who was muttering prayers, for a fight. Hanuman declined, saying he would not fight with the son of Surya, who was his Guru. However, Shanideva seized his hands and thrashed him. Left with no other option, Hanuman tied Shani with his tail, carried him to the top of the mountains, and lowered him into the pits, thus injuring him. After much pleading, Hanuman released Shani and relieved him of the pain by applying oil to his wounds. From that moment, the practice of offering oil to Shanideva began.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
