निर्व्यामोहप्राप्त्यै मार्गः

कदाचित् कश्चन राजा कस्मैचित् संन्यासिने सुवर्णमयं भिक्षापात्रम् अयच्छत् । संन्यासी तेन भिक्षापात्रेण भिक्षायाचनं करोति स्म । कश्चन चोरः तत् पात्रं चोरयितुं तं संन्यासिनं रहसि अनुसृतवान् । एतत् ज्ञातवान् संन्यासी भिक्षापात्रं बहिः अक्षिपत् । तत् दृष्ट्वा निर्व्यामोहम् अमूल्यं भिक्षापात्रं बहिः क्षिप्तवान् अयं महात्मा इति विचिन्त्य अन्तः गत्वा महात्मानं नमस्कृत्य 'कथम् अमूल्यं वस्तु बहिः क्षिप्तं भवता ?’ इति अपृछत् चोरः । संन्यासी तस्मै उपदेशम् अकरोत् । गच्छता कालेन चोरेण चौर्यं कर्तुमपि न शक्तम् । अल्पे एव काले सुवर्णधनादयः शिलामृत्तिकादयः इव अभासन्त । अन्ते सः संन्यासिनः शिष्यः भूत्वा आत्मशुद्धिं प्राप्य उत्तमजीवनम् अयापयत् ।

A king once gifted a saint a golden begging bowl. The saint used it for alms, but a thief secretly followed him, hoping to steal it. Realizing this, the saint threw the bowl away. Amazed at such detachment, the thief approached and asked, “How could you discard such a precious thing?” The saint gave him a teaching. Over time, the thief lost his desire to steal, seeing gold and wealth as mere dust and stones. Eventually, he became the saint’s disciple, attained inner purity, and lived a noble life.
