HeadRoom with Dr. Rod Berger

Happy World Oceans Day, 2024! A special episode of HeadRoom features the incomparable talents of cinematographer, musician, composer, and eco-preneur Joshua Sam Miller. A noted sound and visual activist, Miller has combined his wealth of experience and talent to represent the power of the oceans and marine life, which is desperate for us to understand their delicate environment better.

In 2020, the project was accepted as part of the International Year of Sound featured by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association in Santa Cruz, CA, and debuted at Burning Man 2019.  In 2021, he presented his work at the United Nations Climate Conference COP 26. He was featured on PBS Television, Agape Zoe Festival, World Oceans Day, and as an artist in residence at MONOM Sound Berlin.  In 2022, Embodied Sounds shared the premiere of Sounds of the Ocean at WisdomeLA and was welcomed as an official accredited organization at the United Nations Ocean Conference, where Joshua led an immersive event at the Lisbon Planetarium to inspire local people and global stakeholders to connect with life underwater in support of SDG 14.  He later was invited to perform at the Ocean X Climate Summit at COP27 in Egypt as the opening performance.
