भगवदुपासनायाः उद्देशः

कस्यचन आश्रमस्य अर्थस्थितिः नास्ति इत्यतः तत्रत्यः आचार्यः आश्रमस्य निर्वहणार्थं सर्वदा कष्टम् अनुभवति स्म । अतः कश्चन शिष्यः आचार्यम् उपसर्प्य 'भवान् आश्रमस्य अर्थक्लेशस्य निवारणाय किमर्थं भगवन्तं न प्रार्थयते?’ इति अवदत् । तदा आचार्यः अवदत् 'प्रतिफलम् अपेक्ष्य भगवदुपासना न करणीया वत्स ! असीमानन्दानुभूत्यै वयं निसर्गं पश्यामः, न तु प्रतिफलापेक्षया । एवमेव भगवदुपासना अपि असीमानन्दस्य अनुभूत्यै एव करणीया, न तु प्रतिफलं किमपि एष्टव्यम् । व्यक्तिगतप्रयोजनाय क्रियमाणा उपासना वाणिज्यमिव स्यात् । तादृशी उपासना न हि प्रशस्ता' इति ।

In an ashram where financial resources were lacking, the teacher often struggled to maintain it. One disciple asked, “Master, why don’t you pray to God to remove these financial troubles?”. The teacher replied: “Worship of God should never be done with expectation of reward, my child. Just as we look at nature for boundless joy, not for gain, so too worship is meant for experiencing infinite bliss, not for seeking benefits. Worship done for personal profit becomes like trade, and such worship is not noble”.

What is बालमोदिनी?

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
