Our guest for this episode has had one of those chameleon careers that spans sectors, experiences and countries. He has been the Pope's Stage Manager, a sound engineer for Prince Charles, apprehended foreign fishing vessels, survived nine cyclones at sea, has investigated violent crimes, fires and frauds, led over one-hundred bush fire fighters, coordinated the media liaison for the Australian Navy and is a qualified marksman.

Peter Rekers is a very experienced crisis communicator having performed roles such as the Australian Naval Commander’s Media Advisor during the Gulf War. Peter was also the Manager of Media and Strategy for Queensland’s Department of Emergency Services and is a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy Reserve. He sits on the Advisory Board of the World Conference on Disaster Management and is a co-founder of Emergency Media and Public Affairs. Peter also lectures at our very own USQ.
