The Regional Rasslin' Podcast expands with its new sister show, Georgia Rasslin' On My Mind! Covering all current and future Georgia-related episodes, as well as every archived episode focused on the history of the Georgia wrestling territory.

This week, Host Ray Russell is joined by guest Jammie Ward as they begin to discuss 1981 in Georgia Championship Wrestling! On this introductory episode of the GCW 81 project we set the stage by going back and looking at all the happenings from late 1980 leading into the new year. Some of the topics include the arrival of a "new dimension in tag team wrestling" The Fabulous Freebirds. We'll look at the Birds debut, and their feuds with Kevin Sullivan, Austin Idol, Robert Fuller, Stan Frazier, and Ted Dibiase. Plus, we talk the heel turn of Kevin Sullivan, the return of Tony Atlas, the "Four Flat Tires" angle, World Champion Harley Race, the Plowboy takes a piledriver, Mr. Wrestling #2, Mongolian Stomper, GCW broadening their region, Terry Taylor vs. The Sheik, the change in booking, Gordon Solie enhancing the product, and so much more!
