Welcome to SHE is Confident. Hi! This is Deon Teh and in this episode, I will be sharing with you about CREATE YOUR JOYFUL SPACE.

For most of us who are 9 to 5 employees, we tend to be limited by our brain, telling us that we cannot do anything as we do not have enough time on our hands. Therefore, we give thousands and thousands of reasons to justify why we are unable to do anything. 

Even though we complain that we do not have time, we want to have more in life, more fulfillment in life.

Have you ever thought about how you could create and have your joy space and it can bring you more meaning in your life, not constantly having endless thoughts on what you want to do but unable to do so, making you feel tortured and unhappy? 

Do you know it is easy to create your joyful space and it is easy to start and you can do it with a small effort? We always wish we could attain success with one step, hence it is often difficult for us to arrive at our destination. Without putting in the necessary efforts, and letting them accumulate into the foundation, we will not be able to have our joy space as we are overly concerned over the outcome that we think we want as we are competitive for we are afraid of losing face.

Many people think that it is not possible to have a joyful space unless you have a lot of free time and can only do so if you are self-employed but you can actually start even if you are employed. 

When I started working, I had many complaints about work. After I was in charge of managing the company, I started to see things from a different perspective. I started to change my mindset and it got me thinking about what I can do to make the company a better environment for my staff and what I can do to make my staff happy working for my company. 

In the beginning, there were many complaints from the staff, it seems like everyone is unhappy with one another, some feel that they were doing more work than the rest while some like to gossip and backstab their colleagues. I got tired of listening to such complaints and I wanted to overcome this. 

There was no teamwork among the departments, departments will complain and quarrel with other departments, always blaming the other departments when a problem arises,  

I realised that the staff don't voice out their unhappiness and they keep their opinions or suggestions to themselves, and they don't dare to speak out 

I believe that the staff will work to their best ability if they are in a good and joyful working environment. Only when the staff is happy working, the company will benefit from it. I want to create a joyful space where there will be a good communication channel, where all the leaders, staff are supportive of each other, no one has a selfish attitude where they only want to protect their own interests. 

In order to do so, I started by trusting, loving, and upgrading myself first. I was determined to be a leader where my staff would trust and follow me wholeheartedly.  When I started to turn all negative thinking into positive blessings, the way I approach the complaints changed. I was no longer angry and could look at the problems in a different light. My staff became happier and they are more willing to face challenges ahead. The feedback from the staff was heartwarming and I feel that we are more connected than before. 
I realised that to have changed, we first need to make that change ourselves, when our attitude changes, we become a good role model to follow and others will start to change. 

I learn to appreciate their efforts, I put in happiness, trust, and joy and let my staff feel at home and the company became more harmonious than before. All the staff are like family members, connecting well between different departments and remain humble and respectful to each other. 

When you are joyful, you will be able to lead and others will follow and learn from you. You can become a leader anywhere, having confidence. 

You create the joy space for yourself and not for others. When you have your own joyful space, people will agree with you and follow you. 

To create your own joy space is about being aware of yourself, finding yourself, and also finding out the life that you want.

From one individual to a group and from a company to a community, it is important to create your joy space. When one grows, the whole community will benefit.
