State of Waste

In this episode, we take a look at the Sarpy County Transfer Station and how it is an example of the future of waste disposal.

Show Notes

The Sarpy County Landfill closed in early 2017, but residents can still use the location to drop off their waste. After 27 years, the pile of waste is covered up and Waste Connections manages the site as a transfer station. Anne Gallagher reports on the significance of transfer stations and the environmental impacts of solid waste disposal.
