Today’s guest is Sean McVeigh, MD. Dr. McVeigh is a pulmonologist in Honesdale, Pennsylvania and is affiliated with Wayne Memorial Hospital-Honesdale. As a healer and health care professional, he has been serving in the front lines of our struggle against the COVID pandemic. It has been a grueling and stressful job and we need to be eternally thankful to all of those who have sacrificed their physical and mental well-being to fulfill their call of duty to administer to those who have been injured or fallen ill. But this leads us to the big question: HOW does one cope under such demanding circumstances, with no relief in sight? Sean explains to us how Transcendental Meditation was critical to his ability to function at his highest level throughout the pandemic. He also talks about how it was never really a problem for him to find the time to practice TM because one of the benefits of TM is its ability to help us live our lives more efficiently and ultimately free up time.
We live in troubling times. From pandemic to politics it seems we are perpetually confronting physical illness and high levels of emotional stress, anxiety, and depression. The End Anxiety Podcast with James Meade offers a lasting—and often immediate—solution in the practice of the Transcendental Meditation® program, as taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
Studies of the effects of Transcendental Meditation® on the mental states of its practitioners have been ongoing for over fifty years, and the findings are conclusive—Transcendental Meditation can have a real and powerful positive impact on our mental health, especially in terms of mitigating anxiety, stress, and depression.
