सङ्घे शक्तिः कलौ युगे

कदाचित् निर्धनः देवदत्तः धनार्जनाय पत्नीपुत्रैः सह वनं गत्वा एकस्य वृक्षस्य अधः उपविश्य रज्जुनिर्माणम् आरब्धवान् । पत्नी पुत्रौ च विविधानां वृक्षाणां त्वचः सङ्गृह्य आनीतवन्तः। स्वकार्ये दत्तचित्तान् जनान् दृष्ट्वा तस्मात् वृक्षात् एकः यक्षः प्रत्यक्षीभूय अपृच्छत् 'भवन्तः अत्र किं कुर्वन्ति?’ इति । यद्यपि देवदत्तः भीतः तथापि धैर्येण अवदत् 'भवतः पादबन्धनार्थं रज्जुनिर्माणं कुर्वन्तः स्मः' इति । भीतः यक्षः 'मां रक्षतु । वृक्षस्य दशपाददूरे बह्व्यः सुवर्णमुद्रिकाः सन्ति' इति अवदत् । देवदत्तः धनं गृहीत्वा पत्नीपुत्रैः सह स्वगृहम् आगतवान् । तस्य दारिद्र्यचिह्नानि लुप्तानि अभवत् । यत्र सुमेलनं भवति तत्र बहुसम्पदा भवति ।

Once, a poor man named Devadatta went to the forest with his wife and son to earn a living. Sitting beneath a tree, he began making ropes, while his wife and son collected bark from various trees. Seeing them absorbed in their work, a yaksha appeared and asked, “What are you doing here?” Though frightened, Devadatta bravely replied, “We are making ropes to bind your feet”. Terrified, the yaksha pleaded, “Spare me! Ten steps from this tree lies a treasure of gold coins—take them”. Devadatta gathered the wealth and returned home with his family. From then on, his poverty vanished.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
