This week we sat down with Rob Schimek, the CEO of of Bolttech, a global insurtech company worth $1.6B dollars. Rob has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry and is one of the most accomplished executives we have ever met. We could have podcasted for hours just about Rob’s professional career and business insights, but there is so much more to his story.
Rob comes from humble beginnings, born into a family of 8 that was on food stamps when he was a child. He learned the value of hard work at a young age and was the first generation of his family to go to college. He started by getting an associate’s degree from Bucks County Community College, a Bachelor’s degree from Rider, and then an MBA from Wharton.
Rob’s endurance pursuits are beyond legendary. He has done countless marathons, Ironmans, and tough mudders. He has completed the Ironman World Championships in Kona 3 times and is currently training for the Antarctic Marathon and the Tokyo Marathon at 58 years of age. We detail his training regiment, diet, bloodwork protocols, and much more. It is also important to note that Rob did not complete first race until he was 40, and we discuss why it’s never too late to start something new.
This is an amazing episode for anyone interested in business, endurance sports, transitioning to entrepreneurship late in life, and above all….
Maximizing your potential in the short time we have on this earth.
Please enjoy.
