Design Thinking

What is design thinking and why should we be interested in it? What is the process like? Is it different from traditional brainstorming? Are there real world examples of the Design Thinking approach that worked in the field?  Dr. Elizabeth Radziszewski is a Fellow at the Stockdale Center, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and the Master’s program in Homeland Security at Rider University in New Jersey. Her research has been well published on civil wars/insurgencies, international conflict, foreign policy, and creativity/innovation.

Guests include senior US Navy and Marine Corp officers who draw on their experience to when discussing topics that are relevant to ethical, philosophical and legal dilemmas that they have faced in the course of their careers. Midshipmen as well as Junior Officers are particularly encouraged to listen.

Ethics and the Naval Warrior is hosted by Michael Sears, a 1978 USNA grad. Michael spent 5 years in the Marine Corps and then earned a JD/MBA from Stanford University. He then went on to a successful career in several prominent Silicon Valley companies. He is now Director of the Boeing Innovation Lab at the Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership at the Naval Academy.
