The construction sector in 2021 is thriving, both commercial and residential, which is great to see especially coming out of the tough times we experienced in 2020 with COVID-19. Our builders are busy, apprentice numbers are growing, and consumer confidence remains high. Communication is now maybe one of our most critical tools and will only become more critical as the year continues.

Ryan is joined by David Kelly, CEO of Registered Master Builders, to discuss the importance of communication, not only from boss to builder, but also ensuring you are having regular catch ups with your customers/clients and your work mates so everyone is on the same page. David says that it is common for businesses to go bankrupt during an upturn like we are experiencing right now, and gives insight on what you can do to avoid traps you may see yourself falling into as you get offered more and more jobs. David also touches base on the some of the issues the sector is experiencing right now, such as shortage of materials.

Communicating openly and honestly with our clients will help to build trust, collaborating with others in the sector will help us work through issues together, and connecting with government to overcome the big challenges we are facing will ensure the building and construction sector remains strong through these challenging times.
