Show Notes

After disappointing critics and audiences alike with his previous film - This Is 40 - Judd Apatow is back in familiar territory with Trainwreck: a wild, out of control lead stuck in arrested development learns to grow up through a new romantic relationship.

However, Trainwreck has one key difference, Apatow has swapped the gender of his lead. This time Amy Schumer plays the starring role (and wrote the script) with Bill Hader playing the love interest.

Being Apatow fans, both Jon and Matt are keen to see if this change of traditional rom-com gender stereotypes can save Trainwreck from slipping into cliche.

Join Matt & Jon as they discuss the Trainwreck trailer. Then - after the film has been released - they return to discuss the feature itself.

What is The PrePost Film Review?

In each episode of The PrePost Film Review hosts Jon Asquith and Matt Stephenson discuss a film over two distinct periods.

First - brief, spoiler free impressions of a trailer upon its release. Followed by a spoiler-filled review recorded months later once the film hits cinemas.

A thoughtful and occasionally funny look at how trailers represent films.
