Hop along to conversations with the Kaz sisters, Ashley and Angela. You'll find a mix of silly, serious and everything in between. 🦘
This is sisters Ashley and Angela.
And this is sister Rooy. So I have a story for you. I'm on the edge of my seat. You should be.
This is Ashley coming up with a story.
Not coming up with.
Oh, she had the story.
I have this story. Happened to me.
To you?
No.
Okay.
It was a decision I made.
Oh, even better.
So I have been sick and I was craving jello. Oh, no. Okay.
I don't know where this could go.
Which is funny because the cherry kind. I also feel like we just talked about jello Jello and pudding the other day. We were like, when is the last time you had pudding? And then I don't even know. I know we have, like, a fancy Jello that our family traditionally makes for holidays, but when do you just eat Jello? Do you eat it often?
Wait, did we really have a conversation about Jello where I asked you when the last time you had the banana jello?
No.
Cause that's not the fancy Jello.
No.
Which I don't know when I had.
That last, but no. So our specific. I guess our specific conversation was about pudding. And we were like, when's the last time? Cause you don't just make pudding.
Yeah, I don't. And there's a difference in ingredients.
Our versus made pudding, like, growing up.
Yeah. She was like, the box kind, whether it was vanilla or chocolate.
What's funny about that is, like, three days later, Justin made pudding out of a box and just ate it at the table.
For real without you talking about pudding.
Correct. I was like, wow. Angela and I were just talking about how we haven't had pudding from a box in a really long time.
But was that when I brought up the fact that I looked at the ingredients of a pre made pudding cup versus pudding that you make from the box?
I mean, maybe, but I don't remember that detail.
Okay. That's the last thing I remember about pudding. Pudding discussion.
But no, just Jell O with bananas to go back to. That is not the fancy Jello I'm talking about.
I agree.
It is not. it's the cranberry Jello is the fancy Jello.
Yes.
I don't eat banana jello either. So this is just plain old Jello. Okay, Plain Jello. When's the last time you had plain jello? Like over a decade ago. I just don't. So I was sick. I had a sore throat.
Oh, no.
Oh.
The Jello shot.
Oh, yeah. When I was vegan and to celebrate.
Me ending my vegan year, you were.
Able to have a Jello shot. That is so true. And we didn't have our IDs and the guy ID'd us. And luckily I had a friend there who vouched for us. Cause we were definitely over 21. Yeah. And you were like, I just want to have Jello. Because I have been vegan for over a year. Yeah, for a year at that point.
So that would have. That would have been like seven.
Seven, years ago.
2019.
2018. 2019.
I'm like, I think I met Jake in 2018, but it was when he.
Broke up with the ex boyfriend.
Yeah. But this would have been New Year's Eve.
All I know is I actually got a Facebook, memory today that I flew to Detroit for Taylor, um, Swift. Seven years ago today.
Oh, my gosh
So I think it was seven years ago. Almost a decade.
So. Yeah. So that was 2018, the year of my vegan year.
Yeah.
And then. So if this was New Year's Eve.
Go New Year's Day. It would have been January 1st. 2019 is actually when you had last plain Jello.
No, to the day.
Which isn't actually plain Jello because it.
Had liquor, but it's the plainest in the sense that it had no fruit in it.
Okay.
But even, that's a stretch. So. Yes, to your point, it has been even longer since I had plain old Jello.
Right. So I was sick and I had a sore throat. And soup, obviously, Jello smoothies. This is what was what I want.
When you're sick.
I mean, I just was craving it this time. Justin always has Jello on hand. Justin eats Jello all the time.
Like pre made in a cup. In a Jello cup. I don't even know if I've had that type of Jello.
It tastes the same.
I bet. But I've always just had the homemade from a box.
Yeah. So I. I was like, you know, your Jello looks good. I want some Jello.
Your Jello looks good.
So, Justin, sounds like a pickup line. Your Jello brings all the boys to the yard. anyway, Justin was tasked with shopping for this Jello and he was at Walmart, I think, and they did not have Jello brand Jello.
Oh, no. An off brand.
Have you.
Wait, is. Sorry, I just. You know how you call a tissue a tissue? Or you should.
Yeah. People call it Kleenex It's the brand. Yeah. So Jello is.
But Jello is.
That's the brand. It's gelatin that you're eating.
So people would, just be like, hey, can I Have some gelatin. That's the actual correct thing to say?
I think so. Cause who says that? I don't know.
I was like, can I have some gelatin?
Can I have some gelatin today? I don't know.
Give me the cherry gelatin, please.
I told Justin. I was like, I want the Jello brand Jello.
I would agree.
And he was like, they don't have Jello brand. I'm like, I do not believe it. But whatever.
Who makes Jell O? That's not Jello.
So they have snack packs. Do you know what a snack pack is?
Nope.
Wow, Angela. Living under a rock. Guys, a snack pack also makes Jello and pudding cups that are like pre made, but they are not refrigerated. So you find Jello in the refrigeration section of a store. And snack packs are shelf stable and it freaks me out. I'm horrified for the pudding and the jello. I'm horrified for both. So I'm like, oh, no. Um, fine. Get me the snack pack. I'll try it.
Oh, no.
And he gets me like orange and strawberry. I'm like, cool. So he comes back, I try the orange. It is not the same texture. It is not the same flavor. The flavor is like strong, whatever.
Strong?
Yeah, it's just like a strong flavor for strawberry. It was orange that I tried first. And when I went to go open it, it had like a liquid film on top. And I was like, ew. Oh my gosh. So I like poured the liquid down the drain. Oh my gosh. Ate the jello. I'm like, okay, well, now I have four of these. Uh, because they come in two packs or four packs. I can't even remember. I might have had to eat eight. Well, Justin put it in the fridge for me because he knew that I wanted it in the fridge. Thank goodness. So I let it cool for a little bit. But yeah, it was not. It was not my favorite. And then I was like, I don't know if I've ever had orange Jello. I think I have. So funny enough, for both my pregnancies, I definitely had Jello in a cup because I give Jello. But you just didn't have. Well, my labors were longer than yours.
Yeah, I did not have. I had popsicles.
I had a popsicle too.
No Jello. Jello was nothing. Not anything I wanted. While I was pregnant.
Pregnant or I mean, I was on a liquid diet, so jello is what it was. And I threw it up like 10 minutes later.
When you were in labor though?
Yes.
Now it yeah, no, mine were. Mine were quicker than that.
Correct. Yeah, yeah. So fast forward. I'm on the last snack pack. Like, you ate four of these in.
The matter of a day?
No, I did not eat that today. I had been sick. I had these in the fridge. So. Oh, I have the last snack pack Jello in my fridge and I'm like, I gotta just eat this and get it over with. So it was an orange one. The red. The strawberry was not much better. It was an orange snack pack and I had sat down, had taken the film lid thing off and got.
Rid of the liquid.
And I was sitting there, I was like, oh, right, the liquid. So I bring it up to my sink and I'm like tipping the cup in and before I know it, the whole Jello just slides right out of the cup. Like, does like that little sound, like into the, like right down the kitchen sink drain into the garbage disposal. And I just looked at it. I was like, one, what a waste. But two, thank goodness. That's one way to get rid of it. I was like, yep, thank goodness I didn't have to eat it. But also, that's my life. I guess today I was gonna say.
I think I might have thrown it away before the whole thing.
It was the fourth time.
You know, I think it was meant to be to just go straight down the drain. It knew that.
It knew that I wasn't going to appreciate it. So I was like, see ya. Oh my goodness.
Uh, I have never. Or I have, actually, the fact that we were talking about Jello, this.
Is not the end of my story.
Oh, okay, cool.
But continue with your Jello.
No, this is nothing about Jello. It's just reminded me of what has happened recently in my life. And you're gonna laugh about it because, you know. Okay, so I'll bring it up after you.
Okay. So later I like do vacuuming something, whatever.
Do vacuuming?
Yeah, I'm great doing stuff around the house. I don't even know. And I go and grab one of my little chocolates. So I have these unreal coconut covered chocolate chocolates. It's like three grams of sugar. And so it's just, you know, this tiny little bar. So I like rip off the, the wrapper in half. I take a bite of it in half because it's a really tiny thing. Honestly, I could probably just shove it all in my mouth. Yes, you could. I was waiting for it. That's what she said. Joke.
But I was just trying to remember because I took a bite of this tried one, like, the other day.
Yes, but sad.
Like funnel. Funny enough, I don't remember it. Like, it was just not great.
Well, it's like the size of your pinky, right?
Yeah, I guess.
So I bite it in half. I have the wrapper. I take the wrapper out. I had like, mail in my hand. Something else I was throwing away, and I was, throwing the wrapper away, and I had. the bar in my mouth that I was chewing the half of the bar, and so the other half was in my fingers and I was like doing a claw dance with my fingers and everything in my hands. So I went to go throw all this stuff away, and I looked at everything and I was like, nah, I'll be good. And I don't know what was in my other hand, but, um, totally just threw the other half of my bar in the garbage the same day.
Oh, my gosh.
And so I'm really just sitting there contemplating my life. Like, I really wanted that chocolate. And so, uh, I looked at the garbage real good.
You went in.
And, um, you know, it's mostly wrappers and, like, mail on top. So I was like, you know, I think I'm okay. So I straight up, I took this other half of this chocolate bar and I ate it out of the trash. Oh, my gosh.
The definition of a scavenger.
I was this year. I was 33 years old. I ate something out of the trash, and I had more in the pantry. Guys.
You know, I won't lie. I think I've picked something up out of the trash that I accidentally threw away. I, like, it's gotta have happened in my years of life.
I don't know. It was lucky that there was a bunch of, like, container type and wrapper type things thrown away on top.
I mean. Yeah, it just totally depends on what the first level layer of garbage it lands on.
Well, I.
Cause if it lands on, you know, something that I just poured out of the vacuum cleaner.
I was gonna say I had just vacuumed. Ah. But luckily I put the vacuum dust container dirt in the trash can in Justin's office. So luckily I didn't use that trash can.
Yeah.
Anyhow, that's my story.
Wow, you're channeling your, raccoon spirit animal.
Yes, definitely. Trash panda.
Uh, love that for you.
Ridiculous. I just was kind of. I really contemplated life for a minute there. I was like, first the jello, now my chocolate. so what, what were. What did I trigger for you with the jello?
This has Nothing related to probably the texture of jello, but our parents have reintroduced some, uh, edible thing in our lives.
A meal.
I wish I remembered the name of it. are you talking about the ham thing?
Okay, I have no idea what it's called.
Yeah, dad called it something today. I just talked with him about it.
Begins with your darn memory. i know
Anyway, this meat. Food. I. I don't know what.
I know you said it's edible, but, like, it's food, guys.
Yes. I, I don't know how to describe this to you guys, other than this is ground up ham, spiced ham that has like, relish mixed with mayo mixed with maybe some other things. I don't even know.
I think it was mostly relish, mayo and spiced ham.
Anyway.
Sounds disgusting.
Anyway, our dad, guys, he rediscovered. I don't know if he rediscovered, but he had just visited his brother And so my dad, I mean, it's a nostalgia for him from his childhood. Yeah, it's a nostalgia thing for him and completely understand that. But guys, it just does not look appealing. It is ground up ham, and I'm already kind of a weirdo about, uh, meat. Yes, it is cold.
This weirds me out.
So anyway, our mom, she comes over to watch my kiddos, um, for a day, and she brings us Tupperware, uh, container full.
Oh, my gosh, mom is coming tomorrow. I hope she doesn't bring me ground up ham.
I'm so curious if she will.
Ain't no way Ace would eat that. Well.
I, I don't know what she would have said to Emma to eat it like. But, for our listeners, my daughter, she will typically eat most things and she's not picky really, and it's great. But, you know, I know what this looks like, this ham stuff. And
we're, you know, off playing games and stuff for the reason why we're out. And my mom is watching our kids. And my mom is updating me on what Emma has eaten for the day. And for lunch she tells me that Emma is enjoying the sandwich, which you put this ham stuff on bread.
Which.
You know, I didn't really know.
I think that is, it's a nostalgic type of sandwich for dad. I do think that in her original, like, she had posted about it, she said that it was a sandwich.
Yeah. I mean, and you, you like, is.
It like the consistency of Chicken salad.
I don't know. It's so ground up. I. The thing is, the thing is, since my daughter ate it and dad loves it, Mom, I think, you know, has eaten it and I want to try it, but I'm afraid I.
Do not want to try it.
I actually want to bring you some and we can try it together because that would be even better because Jake I don't think is going to touch it. He has made it clear while Jake.
Is probably one of the pickier people I know. I know a couple and I'm picky and I know a couple other people that are picky.
Yeah. It's just he also had something ruined with mayo, that his mom did. And so he always remembers that. And he seriously has a gag reflex of thinking about some of these things that just are a trigger for him to be like bleh.
Um.
And so when he found out that mayo was added to this, he was like, absolutely not.
I was like, darn it.
I really just wanted to try it with somebody because Emma already loves it. She had two sandwiches today that I made of it because I'm like, I don't know if I'm gonna eat all of this and Emma's eating the sandwiches. So cool.
She left it there or she's dinner.
Because they had too much. I think they are hammed out at this point with this meal.
Not something that they can freeze and.
Well, they already unfroze it so they can't refreeze it. I don't think.
Ew.
I should just come over tomorrow with a whole batch so that you can. If mahter doesn't come over with some. Um, I'm gonna, I'm gonna let you have a snack with me.
But see, so Jake just doesn't like mayo at all because I don't like mayo either. But I obviously understand things are made with mayo. Like dressings like Caesar dressing and yeah. Ranch dressing.
I don't know. I do have actually follow, up questions for him about this whole mayo
Deviled eggs have mayo, right?
Yeah. He doesn't eat really deviled eggs though.
Tartar sauce?
I don't think so.
But he's not. I. There's not many things that we would eat with tartar sauce for him. Cuz he's not a salmon patty person.
He always does ketchup up with those if he does.
I know he's a very. You know, Jake is a kid at heart.
Yeah.
Mhm.
That is like my other picky eater friend.
Picky eater friend.
Picky eater friend. Yes. She also just always.
Oh, a friend who's the.
Yeah, she just eats, childlike food.
Yeah. Yeah.
Yep. so I'm at least a little better than that. Not better, but not as picky.
I mean, you'll try things. I was, I do was shocked that Jake was just like, absolutely not. I was like, not even a bite.
So would you try mom and dad's meatloaf?
I would try it now. Yeah. I've tried Jake's meatloaf. Like, I'm not a fan at all. It looks disgusting. But I will try everything.
That is true. We have talked about that. I. I actually do want to try mom's tuna salad. Tuna pasta salad. Oh, so good. Again. To see if I'd like it now.
Do you remember the last time you had that?
Probably over a decade ago. It's probably at our. At our childhood home. It is so good. But I'm like, you know, maybe it would be good.
It's one of those weird things where I began to develop loving it because I did not like it growing up.
You didn't like deviled eggs growing up.
I did not.
I remember forcing you to eat one.
And now I would eat like, six of them at least if I could. If I didn't feel like I was hoarding them all.
Well, so that brings me to, one of my follow ups. So for my listeners, I just got my blood work done and it's not good, y'.
All. Not great.
I already have high cholesterol because of it running in our family, but I eat like crap and I haven't been working out. And so this week I've really stepped it up. I've been doing a peloton almost every other day, if not every day. It's not like a hard hitting thing every day, but I try to get on it. At least if I do get on it every day, I'll do like a more intense workout and then like a, uh, less intense workout.
Yes. Lesser intensity.
Yes.
I've been proud of sister. she sends me photos when she's like, did it.
Yeah. Didn't want to. Sometimes I do not want to.
most times you don't want to.
there's some times where I'm like, I am ready.
Oh, really?
But there was that one day I was like, I really don't. That's because we stayed up so late. I think probably, um, I was like, I'm so tired. I should not be. I don't want to do it. It was when we played that terrible game. No. The escape, the exit game.
Oh, that game. I honestly forgot. I was like, why did we stay up so late? But now I remember.
Take it out of your brain. Because it was awful. We were so bad.
That was when I also tried your coconut chocolate thing, which was also awful.
Mm m. I've had more. I've had worse things.
I mean, Justin's coconut pan thing was also way worse. I will agree with that.
But it's bland. But it's supposed to be like a healthier thing, which it is. It's 3 grams of sugar and it gets me chocolate.
I'm just not a fan of coconut.
Yeah, well, I do like coconut. You like coconut rum?
That is the only coconut thing that I will. Yes.
Anyway. Yes. We stayed up till like 4am and I was dead the next day.
And I. No, it was 3:00am um, was.
It might have been.
I was like, look at your Oura.
Uh, it is definitely. It was like 3:30, 4:00'. Clock. it was so bad.
Why?
We don't make the best decisions sometimes. No, but we are night owls. Anyhoo. Ha. Who.
Love that.
Um, we. Yeah. Next day. Did not want a peloton, but I still did it.
Yes. I have been proud of you.
and I appreciate you saying, have you done one today? Because I, like, sometimes need that. Yeah. I have been doing that. I have been trying to eat better. so anyway, what do you think I had today? Because it's stuff. Well, it's one thing that I don't typically like. And I was like, you know what? This isn't that bad. Ooh.
Something to help lower the cholesterol.
I'm thinking it's oatmeal. You had oatmeal?
It was oatmeal.
You know, but didn't you try oatmeal before?
I have had oatmeal, but then I would be like, adding brown sugar and sugar and cinnamon. I don't know. It was something that I added.
Okay.
It was easy to get because when I was working in hotels, we always had oatmeal on hand.
like the pre made flavored packet stuff.
No. Well, at hotels you do. Like, we would make it.
Oh, yeah, the big things.
But no, Justin has been eating oatmeal. And so I was like, you know what? Ace has been eating some of it with him and has liked it. So I was like, Ace is liking it and he is somewhat picky as a Child. And his breath smells good because they are like the instant packets that have flavors or whatever.
Okay. I was gonna ask How is Ace eating it? And how is Justin eating it?
So today I had nothing for breakfast.
So you ate this for lunch?
No. Oh, no. Dinner. Correct. Oh, my gosh. Like, five minutes before you got here. Wow.
I was going to ask what.
You ate for dinner. What can I eat? Because I haven't eaten, and I just got these kids to bed. Wow. so I. who are you? I had. I had actually for my first meal of the day, which was at noon. It was like, 12:30. I actually made salmon, rice, and corn. So I ate salmon. And I was like, you know, I should have probably did this for dinner, but I'm not gonna have this time later, so I'm gonna do it now. And then I got the kids to bed and everything, and I was like, man, I still haven't eaten dinner, so I should probably do that. And I really need to go grocery shopping, so I have nothing. And so I was looking at this oatmeal, and I was like, I'll try it. And so it sat there, because then that is when Ace started acting up around bedtime and was like, come do this, come do that. And so then it was cold, and so then I had to microwave it again. I was like, I just want to eat my oatmeal, which I thought I would never say.
Ah.
And I had a blueberry cream. Oatmeal.
Interesting.
Blueberry cream, Quaker oats. I don't know. like, instant stuff. It came in a little packet. There's peaches and cream, blueberry and cream. Maybe apples and cream is a green one. And strawberries and cream.
I've never done anything with fruit and cream.
And I knew that Justin had been using our kettle just to heat up the water and using that water. So that is what I did. And that is how he and Ace have been eating it. Just from the bag, too.
Nice.
It's better than not eating it. It's probably not the healthiest of oats, but it's still oats.
Yeah. I, 1. proud of you for even having oats.
I texted Justin a picture of it, and he said, my man. I said, thank you.
Thank you two. Happy that you ate dinner Eventually.
Yeah.
Even though it was.
Yeah.
You swapped basically dinner, and, uh, you swapped all your meals around by just skipping lunch.
Well, I had, in the sense of.
Like, what you would typically have, I suppose.
Yeah, it was. Yeah. I was eating my oatmeal, and I Was like, you know, I should have just swapped these meals, but whatever.
Yeah. The good news, the good part with oatmeal, though, like, so many people actually eat oatmeal cold. Like, you can eat it cold. You can eat it hot.
I did try it to see if it was still hot because the kettle can get the water hot. And I don't know, honestly, how long it took me to do anything.
Yeah.
Um, and I was like, it's not bad, but I'm gonna nuke it, because, yeah, it is cold and I want it warm.
My preference is always at least warm.
Yeah.
Like, but I've, In my mornings, when I'm also taking care of the kiddos and I want to eat my oatmeal, it is always by the point time. I get it, if I'm lucky, is room temperature.
That's like people with their coffees when they. It's like, how many times did you microwave your coffee today? Because kids keep pulling you away. Yeah. But jinx! You owe me a Coke. I already have a cherry Coke, and I'm not giving it to you.
But yeah, I actually, when I made the salmon, because I literally went down not too much of a rabbit hole last night, but I was like, okay, what do I need to do to naturally bring down my cholesterol besides workout? Um, because I'm already implementing that. So what do I need to do with my diet? Obviously, stop eating fast food as much completely would be the best answer, but I'm gonna be realistic and say not as much. And, so I'm just like, I need to eat pretty much just chicken and salmon because I don't really like any of these other foods and so.
What other foods are you looking at?
It was like, avocados and hummus and nuts. I don't know.
You can eat a lot more than that.
Yeah, I know. I'm sure I can. I. I said a little rabbit hole. I didn't go down too much of a rabbit hole.
Okay.
And so anyway, I made my salmon today, and I was like, I really should have just cooked, like, all of these all at once and just had m them ready. But it's good that I didn't because it was a little dry and I cooked it too long. Hey, still ate it. I have. We have a new stove, oven, whatever. And so I have Been we. I have not mastered the air frying, and Justin has. And Justin is not here right now. He is on a trip to Chicago. And I was on my own, fending for myself, making my own foods. And so I tried the air fryer, according to Google, and it let me down and overcooked my salmon, but I still ate it.
I'm just impressed you had salmon and oatmeal by yourself.
Yeah. Tomorrow I'll probably just have oatmeal in the morning. Because it's easy.
It's so easy. once you know exactly how your microwave cooks. Cause, you know, they're all different.
Yeah. well, I just use the kettle and then I let it sit there. Yeah.
But mine, it's. I have the exact measurement to do two minutes in my microwave, and it's perfect. And yeah, My main thing is I have oatmeal with walnuts. Walnuts, cinnamon, and pretty much I swap out whatever fruits. It's either blueberries, strawberries, blueberries. I don't really do strawberry, actually, but blueberry, banana, or apple. Oh, apple. Yeah. I'll chop up apple. Gala apples. It's just like the perfect soft sweetness. and so I play around with all this based on when I'm tired of one fruit. When you're feeling real ambitious to try.
Maybe Justin and I will just start making batches of oatmeal in the morning and add our own things. But I don't know. The instant was actually not that bad. Yeah.
I've, moved to instant, but I used to make a ton of the steel cut oats.
Yeah.
Because that's actually better nutritiously for you. And then I would have that to last me for the week, especially when I was vegan that vegan year. Honestly, that's like when I discovered oatmeal.
And, because I.
We did not eat oatmeal growing up, I don't remember ever trying oatmeal. We always had cereal.
Yeah. I never had oatmeal.
And I'm just like, I don't know if I would have loved oatmeal because it is a weird. It's weird. It looks like mush. It is not appealing at all in looks.
Yeah.
Like, before I tried it. It looks disgusting. But now love oatmeal.
Yeah. Was. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as icky as, the last time I had it. Yeah.
Because I feel like I made you try oatmeal and that's when you didn't.
You've probably made me try oatmeal. And I did. I did have it when I was at the hotels.
It was probably that vegan year because I don't know when I. And, that the also part of the vegan year was I was looking into how to get my cholesterol better because it was one of my higher. Yeah, it was one of my higher readings the year before. And going into the, crazy resolution, I was like, I'm gonna do something drastic. And, that was the year, though, that I had the best cholesterol of my life. That m. Since I have tracked it
Yep. I had been funding for myself today because Justin was in Chicago, which then leads me to his night.
Uh, okay.
I call him to have the kids say goodnight to him.
This is his travel night. Yeah, yeah. Okay. He traveled the first day of his travel.
Yeah, he flew. He flew out today and is with.
Oh, yeah. So that's today.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He's with his company.
So much has happened.
It's been a long day.
It really has.
Yeah. Um, and so I call him to say goodnight to the children. And, he steps outside of the restaurant he's in. And he was in the middle of dinner, and Ace is like, why are you outside, Dada? And he's like, well, because I'm talking to you, and it's loud in the restaurant. And so on the side, he, uh, was just like, yeah, apparently there's a celebrity, some big celebrity coming. And I was like, oh, what celebrity is gonna be there, you think? And, since he's in Chicago, he was thinking Jeremy Allen White, which is the guy from the Bear, which you don't watch. He's, also from Shameless. But, both of those shows are set in Chicago.
Okay.
So I was like, could be. That's a pretty good guess. And I don't know what other guesses there were, but he was pretty much just like, all right, I'm gonna get back to dinner. Cause we're like in the middle of it, but good night. Whatever. I'm, um, like, okay, keep me updated on that celeb. So I don't know if I didn't really have a guess, because Jeremy Allen White was a pretty good guess. But do you want to play. Do you want to play like 10 questions or something, see if you can guess who it is? Or do you want me to just.
Give you even know? you will know shows based in Chicago. Because I'm like, there's. Is there, like, Chicago pd.
I'm sure there's. There might be, like, Chicago Fire, actually. And, like, things like.
Okay, because I. I seen Chicago Fire. Not.
Do you want me to give you hints or do you want to play, like, 10 questions or something?
Okay. Yeah. So far you've just told me a celebrity. So then with your guess or Justin's thoughts, I just went to tv. So is it a celebrity from a TV show?
No.
Is it a singer?
Yes. Hmm. Female.
Um, singer?
No.
Male singer that I definitely listen to.
Mmm. No. But, like, you definitely know who it is.
I don't listen to them.
So,
Would our parents listen to them?
Him mom might. Okay.
Mom might listen to. And it's just one singer. Not like a boy band or anything.
No.
You seem confused, though.
Like. No, it is not just a solo singer.
Not a solo singer. It's a boy band.
Yes, but only one that we don't really listen to.
But mahter might.
You did not ask me if I listened to them.
Oh, you. You listen to them.
I do, occasionally.
Mmm. Occasionally.
But mom might.
Well, it's not like BB Mac, because you'd be like, yeah, mom listens to them.
To be clear, only one of the singers was there. It was not the whole band.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's just like, what I. But you don't think I listen to them. But you listen to them occasionally. That's what's interesting.
You've probably listened to some of their songs. If I said some more things, you'd get it right away.
I'm, like, so excited.
Um.
Uh, but is it Like a band or celeb who's closer to our age? Like, yes. Like, I just think Jonas Brothers. Like, Joe. What are their names?
10 questions.
Oh, my gosh.
You got it. It's Joe Jonas. Wow. which was funny because we just talked about the Jonas Brothers. Oh, yeah. Because they're on tour right now.
Potentially seeing them.
I was like, I almost gave you the hint. Like, we literally just talked about the band. I got it. I didn't even ask him for an update. It had been an hour or so had passed since I had said goodnight to the kids. I hadn't talked to Justin. And he just goes, Joe Jonas is behind me.
No way. Did he take a picture?
I doubt it. Justin. Well, you gotta be. I don't know. So. So I go, ah, uh, they play Illinois tomorrow. I don't know where they're playing, but I guess it might be. It said credit union. I don't know if that's Chicago, but It said, like, Tinley Park. Is Tinley park in Chicago?
Tinley park, yeah. It's a venue. M. Okay. Near Chicago.
Yeah, that's where they're playing tomorrow. So I said, yeah, they're on tour. And he just goes, yeah, he's eating in the corner booth. And I said, appreciate the play by play.
That's cool.
I said, how did you know a celebrity was coming again? And he just said, our waiter told us to hang out for 45 minutes. Cause the celeb was coming.
That's fun.
And I said, but he didn't know which celebrity it was to tell you if it was worth the wait. He said, correct.
Oh, yeah, that's interesting.
But, yeah, Ah, he was eating at, ah. Au Cheval. A U C H E V A.
L I've never eaten there.
That'd be a fancy place.
Yeah.
Good for Justin's company work dinner.
Joe Jonas.
And then I sent him my lovely mushbowl dinner. Here's my.
Was Joe eating some oatmeal at Au Cheval?
Oh, yeah, that was just. That was exciting. I was like, oh, that is exciting.
Wow.
Out of all of the ones too, why did you pick Joe out of Nick or Kevin? Honestly, I don't think you knew Kevin's name. I'd give you. Did you know all three?
I don't think I know all three of the Jonas Brothers names. Honestly. I think it's just because I know Joe, like, right off the bat. Joe Jonas.
Yeah.
I think Kevin and who? Nick. Yeah. I couldn't have pulled that one out.
No, you could have gotten Nick, right?
I don't think so. If you said name the Jonas Brothers, I would have said Joe.
Dang it. I should have had you name em. and then I would have gotten nowhere else.
Nope. Darn, that's fun.
Yeah.
I don't think I've, uh, really never.
Met or seen a celebrity in the wild.
Not in the wild.
Anytime I'm in New York, which has been once. But Justin. Justin's in New York all the time. But anytime or, the one time I was in New York, I was, you know, searching. Like, could I actually see a celebrity and notice that there are celebrities? Pick them out?
You know, even, like, at five guys, I. I thought I saw some, somebody reminded me of some actor. Couldn't tell you who. And I, uh, thought, hey, what if that was a celeb?
Well, because Taylor Swift literally said she just walked right in with a wig or something on to the first game, and no one noticed, and I was like, wow, so she can even do it.
I know. Which, I mean, when I'm not looking, I'm just never looking for a celebrity. Yeah, I guess there was one. I. I don't even know the guy's name. He's an actor. He was in that chick flick Hit and Run, which I don't know if you've even seen with Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard.
Cute, because they're married, but I don't think so.
Okay, well, there's a guy actor who's in that. and I saw him at, some event in Huntsville, Alabama. What was it for? Like Comic.
Comic Con.
I don't know why we were here. For a friend.
Okay, well, Comic Con, it's, like, very likely you'll see the celebrities.
I know, but that was like. Honestly, he wasn't at a booth or whatever. He was just kind of, like, walking around. And, that's like the closest type of where I'm like, wow. I'm even, like, around celebrities. But he was the only one that I really even recognized, because I don't.
Yeah, I think I've talked about it, but I've met my favorite band, Mariana's Trench. I've met all of the band members.
Yeah, the only time I met.
And I was an idiot.
I was an idiot. I met. I met the singer of State champs, Derek, and he, like, I think I hugged him. And it was the first time I really felt like a, true idiot. Like, I didn't know what to say.
I just was like, thoughts. You think you're gonna be so cool to these people, and then thoughts just go out the window. Well, yeah.
And I honestly didn't even think I was going to be seeing any singers at Warped Tour. This was at Warped Tour. And they're. They were a lesser known band at that time, too. Like, I think maybe they only had their first album.
Okay.
And I was just. I was just like, wow, I can hug you. Like, now I feel like if I went up to somebody, I don't know, it's one of those. I will never know until whatever happens, if it ever happens again.
Justin has met someone. So many famous people. And I'm just like, I don't understand how you get yourself in these positions. And, uh, then today, he's just like, yeah, Joe Jonas is behind me. Doubt he talked to him, but still. Ridiculous.
Yeah, ridiculous. Ridiculous.
so we talk about a lot of random things, but they were all related around food. Food.
The oatmeal, your salmon, the jello. And then Joe Jonas.
Just honestly, just for weird things, to really throw it out there for just a question at the end. Um, does anybody have any weird pairings that they eat? And I will throw out an example.
Weird pairings.
Well, I'll throw out the example of our childhood favorite sandwich to throw it back to dad was not a ham ground up sandwich. But it is a classic blt but without mayo. We substitute peanut butter and people think we're weird for that. And it is utterly delicious.
So good. I had so many of these BLTs Kazmierczak style during my last pregnancy.
Yes.
So many.
Yeah. Peanut butter bacon does not sound good. But it is amazing to us and that is what we grew up on. So do you have any weird things like that just to tie it all in together? Let us know on our Instagram page, Sister dot Rooy or our Facebook, even @SisterRooy R O O Y. Thanks for chilling with us about food today. Thanks, guys. Bye.
