Psalms 139: 13-18
A weekday morning devotional series written by Aaron Marcarelli and hosted by Chad McBeam
“¶For You created my innermost parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, because I am awesomely and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You When I was made in secret, And skillfully formed in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my formless substance; And in Your book were written All the days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them. ¶How precious also are Your thoughts for me, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You.”
Psalms 139:13-18 NASB2020
In our community group Bible study last night we read these verses. We are going through a study that is connected to the TV series called “The Chosen”. I am sure most of you have heard about or seen the series. It is a historically based TV series about the ministry of Jesus. I was reluctant to watch the series for various reasons (of which we do not need delve into) suffice to say I was a skeptical watcher of the show.
However, I prayed that the Lord would use the show to help me grow in my walk with Christ.
Well, God has already used the show to help me grow and we are only one episode in.
It’s always been difficult for me to accept that God chose me. I am so unworthy, so sinful so broken. Yet the creator of the universe chose me, even though He knows my innermost thoughts.
It is so incredibly humbling that think that I went from being an orphan destined for an eternal life of misery, to being a prince of the greatest kingdom ever, that is everlasting.
God has chosen me, God the creator of the universe has chosen you. He made you, He knows you, He has a plan for you, He wants a relationship with you. Therefore, rest in His promises, rest in His perfect, awesome, merciful saving grace.
Take comfort, that He has chosen you, that His plans are perfect for you, and that He loves you and He will never leave you or forsake you.
Lord thank you for choosing us! Thank you for your son, his death on the cross, resurrection and gift of eternal life as in your kingdom as princes and princesses. Help us to rest in your promise of being part of your chosen purpose. Open our hearts to you and allow to be vessels of your perfect pleasing love. In Jesus Name We pray Amen…
Shalom blessings and Press In and Press On.
