Welcome to Balm and the Burnout. A podcast for cross-sector people and professionals navigating personal and systemic burnout. Whether you're a doctor, educator, farmer, caregiver, or simply trying to survive under the weight of broken systems. This podcast is here to offer solace strategy and solidarity.

This first season, we'll be exploring burnout as it relates to local to me systems in Minneapolis, Minnesota, including but not limited to, burnout on politics and activism, burnout in education and artistry, medical professional burnout, caregiver burnout, environmental [00:01:00] and farming burnout, corporate, nonprofit and small business burnout and more, and.

As my favorite tour guide from Universal Studios said to 10-year-old me, but that's not all. This podcast isn't just about burnout and how the world is on fire right now, how much life sucks and things need to change. What it's actually about is our resilience. Ways that we can build capacity for ourselves and in our communities to keep on keeping on.

And what does that look like? I love the idea that we can actually look to the helpers, look to the people who are dedicated, have been breathing the same air as burnout and have come out on the other side, or often unscathed or even more resilient. And I'm not about Pollyanna our [00:02:00] way through a difficult time, but I'm about finding.

The pockets of joy, resilience, and resistance that are moving us toward a more just and meaningful life for ourselves, for our relationship with the planet and for our collective liberation. I. The first season of the podcast is intended to be filled with insightful conversations, expert interviews, and personal stories.

Coming from a background in theater, storytelling, and community building, I believe in the power of storytelling and trust. My guests are arriving at the right time with the right message for the right ears. I am interviewing literally neighbors on my block, New York Times bestselling authors, badass activists, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and more So here we are [00:03:00] to build awareness, culture, and space for talking about what is helping us get through these hard times.

And you may just be wondering, who am I? Balm and the burnout is hosted by me, Megan Hadley, a nationally board certified health and wellness coach, mindfulness instructor, wellbeing consultant and teacher. I help artists, activists, and academics reduce their risk of burnout through mindfulness and nature-based services, including outdoor integrative health coaching in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Retreats, resilience rituals, moon circles, mindfulness groups, and more. As a holistic health coach, I work with folks on building self-efficacy and self-belief that their small actions matter in a sea of struggles, and my [00:04:00] hope is that this podcast inspires people. To continue to make small and collective action for a more just and brighter future with our wellbeing as a non-negotiable.

Please note that my guests and I are arriving to the podcast as individuals, not on behalf of any of our employers contracts or clients. What we say is not intended to be medical, business, or legal advice. We're merely humans. Flawed as any showing up to share what we've been through, seeing what can be gleaned and shared from that.

So thank you for your interest and listening ears. Currently the podcast is completely supported by the work I do with my private practice and consulting business, Harvest Health and Wellbeing LLC. If you want to support the work id, you can find me on Venmo at [00:05:00] HHW-LLC. And leave a tip or donation for someone in my community to receive free or reduced services with a community scholarship.

I am also very much an anti grind culture person if you couldn't already tell. So my plan is to get creative this summer of 2025 and release several episodes a month, perhaps weekly. Then see if it feels like a better flow to do one or two a month as we move into the fall. I'm honestly in no hurry. I'm just here for these conversations and the energy and hope that they give me.

And I feel absolutely lucky to be the one who happens to be holding the mic sharing space with such incredible people. Talking about one of my most favorite and difficult topics, and hoping that it lands with people who hear it. So join me and my guests as we navigate the [00:06:00] intersections of burnout and systemic harm, providing actionable insights and resources to help you reclaim your wellbeing and advocate for systemic change.

Subscribe now should be available wherever podcasts are available. And let's embark on a journey towards healing, empowerment, and collective resilience. Because in the midst of burnout, together we'll find and alchemize the balm that we need to move forward. To continue the conversation.
