Welcome to Sunday, Sunday.

What is going on, everybody?

Welcome to Sunday, Sunday,

Sunday Night CrossFit Talk.

We are here and we are live on

a Sunday night.

So good to be with you.

Don't forget to like and subscribe.

It means a lot to us.

YouTube's going through a scrub again.

Just my fragile little heart.

I just need a couple little subscribers

added to our tally.

Just saying.

That's it.

Mark Phillips says there's a gun show

again.

It's summer, Mark.

Thank you.

I've been working hard in the lab.

I really appreciate the comments.

Oh, oh, they must mean Jamie.

Uh, whoop, hit that one.

Sorry.

Um, so, oh man,

I've been working my tail off this

weekend.

I think I think I can get a

car in my garage now.

Ooh, that's exciting.

It's really exciting.

It's been years.

It's been years since we could get a

car in the garage.

I was out there today and,

and Julie was out there with me.

And when it's just me,

like I just pitch,

like if we haven't used it,

it's going in the garbage.

And today Julie's like stacking things on

the shelf.

And I'm like,

when was the last time we have used

that?

And she's like,

all you do is yell at me.

Every time I come over to this shelf,

I'm just going to stop helping.

And I'm like, well, maybe.

You're not helping.

Well, and I keep telling it,

and I said this last week on the

show, like,

we're planning to move back to

Pennsylvania to retire.

Now, that is not tomorrow.

That is like seven, eight years from now.

And I'm just to the point where I

don't want to pack all this up.

Yeah.

So if it's not something we're going to

use, let's get rid of it.

So I'm over,

I'm past where the car would be.

And now I'm working on the section where

the gym will be.

So as soon as I get that done,

I'll have half as a gym,

half for a car.

Do you have stuff in the garage already

for a gym?

Yep.

Or do you have nothing?

You have some stuff.

I have rings.

I have bars.

I have plates.

I have wall ball, wall ball target.

I have ab mat, kettlebells, dumbbells.

Yeah, I've got a pretty good gym.

So you have some stall mats in there

already?

I do.

Nice.

But I think we're going to get rid

of them and get new ones.

I just...

Yeah.

I just think it's like they're going to

be too hard to clean.

I see.

I mean, I could get down and scrub.

But is it worth it?

I don't know.

I mean,

those stall mats are a pain to move.

And they're not cheap.

I know.

If I keep them,

maybe I'll move those to the back.

And like...

And I'll put the new ones up front.

Right.

So.

I don't know if you know this,

but Carolyn is texting us on the group

chat as we're live on the air.

Like, hey, Carolyn, we have a show.

And she already told us she wouldn't be

here tonight.

She's giving us show content.

It's fine.

It's distracting.

typing right now uh steam mop yeah yeah

i mean i mean i can clean them

it's fine i got yeah it's fine i'll

just move them to the back so

so we did working on that got all

the all the dirt i need moved to

the back moved now we're starting to build

the patio with the bricks so i got

all that started this weekend so super

super super stoked for that uh because i

feel like all the hard work is finally

starting to pay off

So I know you did something this weekend.

We're not going to talk about it because

we just need some time to digest.

I need help finding a new TV show.

Hmm.

Because everything I'm watching right now

is super, super intense.

Yeah.

Well, it's almost over.

What?

There's...

I'm watching Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed.

Super intense.

I'm watching Dutton Ranch.

The Bear has not started off calm.

Shoot, what is it?

Oh, ponies.

And they are all like super intense.

I need something that's fun and comedic to

laugh a little bit.

Because right now, like,

I'm only two episodes into The Bear.

Man, I just catch a break.

Just catch a break.

Anything like that.

Stop ignoring Tessa's comment.

Can we see Jamie flex?

That is,

don't yell at me for ignoring the text.

Jamie can flex anytime she wants.

Well, there you have it.

It's a quick one.

That's all you get.

That's all you get.

So I saw Widow's Bay.

That looks intense.

I just finished off campus.

That was a nice reprieve.

I caught, I'm trying to think, there's

like a like a teaching show that seemed

pretty funny that i caught on a plane

that i was gonna start watching but i

never got into i see uh patrick says

tires i haven't started that maybe that's

a good one to start i've seen one

episode of that um you guys are so

uncouth say please

Yeah, they're just demanding, Jamie.

Like, dance, monkey, dance.

Shay's like, unreal, Jamie.

Pure Michigan steel.

I did a ton of push-ups yesterday,

so they're like extra swole.

Eric Mackey started with Person of

Interest.

I watched that when it was out every

episode.

Loved that show.

It was actually sad when it left the

air.

I think you would enjoy Shrinking.

I did every episode of it.

That's the problem.

I've watched a lot of these shows.

Yes,

Abbott Elementary is the show I was

talking about.

I've tried Abbott Elementary a couple

times.

It seemed like it was really good.

Couldn't get into it.

Really?

Julie's watched every episode.

She loves it.

Yeah.

Okay.

I don't know.

Widows Bay has lots of comedy.

CrossFetter, you're pulling my leg.

I have not even heard of that show.

I think it's on Apple TV.

And I've been stuck on Apple TV.

That's what Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed is

on.

Okay, that makes sense,

but I've never heard of that.

Jamie,

that show will knock your socks off.

It sounds like something else.

Well,

that's because that's kind of the content.

Oh, okay.

So it's about a divorced woman who's

looking to have someone to talk to and

maybe a little bit more on the internet.

And she witnesses him getting attacked.

And she's trying to videotape her screen

as the guy is attacking, being attacked.

Okay.

And then everything kind of goes on from

there.

I watched the first season of Terminal

List for a couple episodes.

Here's my problem with that, Jeremy.

The lighting is so, so dark.

I couldn't see what was happening.

And I have a lot of windows in

my living room.

So if there's any sun out at all

and it's all glare on my TV when

the screen is black and I couldn't see

what was going on.

For Apple TV,

Jim was telling me about a show.

It's like an alien that comes in and

takes over somebody's body,

but he doesn't know how to be a

human, so it's kind of funny.

Does that ring any bells?

No.

I think it's only on Apple TV as

well, because he had said it,

and I was like, oh, well,

I can't watch that.

Maybe CrossFit will know what I'm talking

about.

It might be like Resident Alien or

something like that.

Lone Wolf is better, Scott.

It's a prequel series.

Okay, I'll check it out.

And Jeremy calls me a boomer.

But at least I'm not a Packers fan.

I may be a boomer.

Resident Alien it is.

So check that one out.

Okay.

Yeah, Apple TV's just been...

So I have that for Formula One.

Because that's where Formula One airs.

And then I've been watching.

I started with Pluribus shrinking.

Of course,

Ted Lasso is coming out later this year.

Stuff like that.

Okay.

I want to put this out to everybody.

Over this week...

This full week from tonight till July

fifth show,

any super chats will go to Jamie and

Carolyn to get to the games.

So I need to get a pen and

paper.

And just so you know,

I will cover what YouTube takes away.

Very kind of you.

So whatever comes in on Super Chats will

go into a pot for Jamie and Carolyn.

I will send them a Venmo for half

each to use to get to the games.

But I wanted to give you guys all

the opportunity to support them.

And we'll do it tonight,

all week on the lunch shows,

and next Sunday night.

Very kind of you, Scott.

I wanted to put that out to everybody

because we want to support them.

They both qualified for the CrossFit

Games.

San Jose is not cheap.

California is not cheap.

And so we wanted to help support them.

That's a funny comment, Avira.

She thought you were independently

wealthy.

Not even a little bit.

Not at all.

Mark Phillips, I did just start that.

The Sheep Detectives on Prime and got

interrupted by my daughter.

So I'll go back and finish that for

sure.

Look at that.

Thank you, Vicki.

Thank you, Vicki.

There we go.

Thank you.

Just think about that.

You already have lunch.

Not even dependently wealthy, no.

I'm going as a spectator.

I would also appreciate your super chats.

That's fair, Jeremy.

Question of the week for Jamie.

Would you rather redo all Legends

semifinal workouts in a day or walk across

a floor full of Legos barefoot?

I mean,

the floor of Legos is going to be

like a minute, so probably that.

Mark Phillips,

throwing twenty dollars into the pot.

Thank you, Mark.

And I don't know what what can this

twenty five months of membership do for

you,

but that's probably the money that's going

to offset the YouTube fee.

So thank you anyway, Kenneth,

for your twenty five months of committed

support of the show.

I still think for what they charge for

registration,

the spectator ticket should be included

for each Masters athlete.

Amen.

Absolutely.

What if it's a huge floor?

That's very fair.

I didn't like hate the workouts.

And like, other than that first one,

they weren't really long.

The last one was tough workout though,

but it was, they were, I don't know.

I don't really ever want to do the

sandbag one.

I hate sandbag workouts.

Uh, there is a,

he never thought in a million years I

would declare my pronoun.

Um, sorry about that.

It's so tough with the screen names.

So tough.

um you gotta have like a picture in

there so that we somewhat know uh jamie

messed up doing that flex for free yeah

should charge for the flex anything else

going on this weekend before we dive into

the uh i didn't get to do much

of anything um i was at the gym

all day yesterday literally

Trying to get, like, a few workouts in.

And then programming.

Did some stuff today.

Spent a while at the gym today.

Went and saw my mother-in-law for dinner.

So that was nice.

Yeah, it's been a fairly low-key week.

We're going to the lake.

We'll be going to my sister.

No.

Well, so here's the thing.

My sister is pretty wealthy.

But that does not flow to me.

They have a boat.

We're going to their boat this weekend.

So when you hear me say that,

I'm going to the boat.

I just have to go mooch off of

my sister.

So, yeah.

We're going there Thursday through Sunday

to Grand Haven.

So we'll be on Lake Michigan.

Jamie is not doing fresh coast.

I am not, it is like,

I literally like fly out the next day.

I, I mean, I'm signed up.

I'm on a team.

Like I, so it's supposed to be Ronica,

myself and Selena.

Um,

Selena actually announced earlier this

week that she is pregnant.

So I guess I can say that publicly.

Um,

so she already had like messaged me a

couple of weeks ago and told me like

she needed to back out.

And I was like, Oh, thank God.

Cause I was like freaking out on what

to do.

I didn't feel like I should compete.

And then like fly out the next day.

Um,

but I probably would have done it.

But so that,

so Ronica is going to have Terry from

the gym and Elise,

one of our other friends that has done

it.

It's usually been Elise, Terry and Ronica.

So they're just going to take over the

team and do that.

So no, I will not be competing.

Are you going?

I don't think I'm even going to go.

I think I'm just going to,

I think I'm just going to be packing

and stuff.

I don't,

I've done a lot of driving less.

I just, I don't know.

It's like, like a lot of traveling.

So probably not.

It's nice to have a sister like that.

Uh, Carolyn is bowling,

so she can't really hear the conversation

while too busy getting strikes.

I want to know what your,

what your games end up being Carolyn.

Um,

Okay.

So it's funny because on the lunch show,

someone said,

if you're going to Fresh Coast,

you have to go to that restaurant right

there.

The name is The Deck.

Yep.

And I can't believe that someone actually

brought that up and I've actually eaten

there.

Yeah.

It is.

It is a great restaurant.

Great view.

Great view.

They always have like live music going

when you're there.

Lana will miss watching you.

And I think Jamie froze.

So this is fun.

Do we anticipate Masters workouts being

released tomorrow?

I don't anticipate anything, Avera.

I don't know.

Um, Carolyn service here sucks.

So try to hop on when I'm home.

Have a good show.

Yeah.

To have fun bowling.

We know your service is bad because your

comment came in and loaded like three

times.

In a Sean Woodland voice.

Is there anything Carolyn can't do?

And we lost Jamie.

So either her laptop was unplugged or she

has lost power at the house.

Yeah, Kenneth, Jamie's gone.

So while she is trying to log back

in,

I'm going to pull up the leaderboard of

semifinals.

And we'll talk about that briefly.

So let me pull that up.

So there's been little to no movement.

more on the no side than anything for

semifinals and a lot of the a lot

of the um athletes have been announcing

that they have made the games so these

are supposed to close tomorrow

And so it looks as though it is

going to be Alexis Raptus, Eric Cofolo,

Alex Kazan already qualified, Ariel Lowen,

Mathilde Garnes, Janie Chevery,

Bear Gross, Bjorn's daughter,

and Holly Tynan will be going to the

CrossFit Games.

They should all become official tomorrow

at some point.

So I think what I'm going to do

is I'm going to text Jamie the link

so that she can join on her phone

if she chooses to.

Should just take me a second.

And then I was also told to send

the link to Megan Apostolaris,

who did the Xenom,

and we can talk to her about what

that was like.

So let me just text Megan while I'm

at it.

Okay.

um john young one xenon pairs i think

your um your information is incorrect um

forty-niners chica

Xenom was fun for this mediocre

CrossFitter.

Everything I've seen.

So let's bring down the leaderboard.

We'll talk about that when Jamie comes

back.

She's rebooting now.

And I think Megan's going to hop on

now too.

And we can talk to her about Xenom.

We'll do that.

So let me have the leaderboard ready for

that.

We'll get to the leaderboard.

Now I'm all confused.

The power outage has killed me.

Xenon went ahead and launched their

initial weekend this weekend in Dallas.

From all accounts I've seen,

everybody had a good time.

I saw some interviews where people said

that they were going to

that they were going to try to come

back and beat their score.

So I think that is a good sign

for CrossFit, for Xenon.

So I'm going to add Jamie to the

stage.

I'm going to add Megan to the stage.

Hey, Megan.

Hello.

Can you guys hear me okay?

Yep.

I hear you great.

Is that window annoying behind me?

Hold on, let me go this way.

I'm going to pull Jamie out.

Her stuff is not working.

Jamie just lost power.

Oh, no.

So she just had to reboot and come

back on.

Cool.

But when she's ready, she'll pop back in.

Sweet.

So congratulations on your first ever

Xenon.

Thank you.

It was everybody's first ever Xenon.

I know.

How was it?

It was super fun.

It was hard, but, like, super fun.

Yeah.

Would you compare,

what is the best thing you can compare

to?

There's really nothing like it right now.

So I know people are going to try

to compare it to a high rocks and

I understand why.

Um,

I think they're going for like a mass

participation event,

which CrossFit doesn't really have any of

those well until now.

Um, and they want, they're,

they're going for like really good

production value and, uh,

and stuff like that.

So like, in terms of like,

the vibe has a similar vibe to a

high rocks, but like,

there's nothing else about it.

That's like a high rocks because it's all

CrossFit events.

CrossFit wants to know,

will you be better?

Well, will you be buying an air rhino?

No, but that was a really cool event.

Like, it was super hard.

And I mean,

That's probably why that event was in

there,

because it's a new piece of equipment from

Rogue, and Rogue's one of the partners.

I would have rathered a deadlift on a

barbell,

but there was a ton of barbell in

it already,

and it was a really cool event.

It was cool trying to figure out how

to use it.

Katie from Rogue was there,

and she kind of was showing people how

to do it, which was kind of cool.

So I don't know.

It added a little something different,

and I quite enjoyed it.

So I noticed on the scoreboard that seemed

to be the lowest scored event for

everybody.

I don't know.

I somehow did really good on that event.

Like I took second in the elite heat

on that event,

but I think that was just by luck.

And that event was also interesting

because so.

They did an amazing job all weekend of

updating the leaderboard, like,

extremely quickly and all of the events

are scored against this system called the

elite performance index.

So, like,

based on the points or the reps or

the time you get in any workout that

determines where you meet against the

standard and every event has its own,

like, top standard.

But, um.

The reason why I'm blabbing on about that

is because they didn't know what the elite

performance index was going to be on the

Rhino.

Cause like no one knew what people were

going to pull.

And like,

so that event took a long time to

update in the leaderboard and everyone was

asking why.

And they actually said the reason why is

because they're,

they were legit creating the standard for

that event, like in real time.

So that was kind of cool to know.

That was the reason.

And yeah.

So I'm going to share the leaderboard

because they did do a great job for

not being able.

And what's cool is I can go to

your name and click on it.

Yeah.

And it has all ten of your scores.

Yeah.

And like the coolest thing and I'm I

hope I'm not like dumbing this down at

all because I don't mean to,

but I do feel like there's a lot

of people out there that don't fully

understand like how xenon works.

But the coolest thing about xenon,

and this is also similar to high rocks,

is that every xenon event.

will be identical.

So when there's London,

London Xenon is next.

Technically,

I could go to that and just try

to beat my EPI score so I can

look at my events,

see what my score was against the standard

and then be like, okay,

I want to get

this many more pet points on the echo

bike event or this minute you know and

you can the whole goal is to compete

against yourself and your score versus

trying to beat other people i mean

obviously you kind of want to beat other

people too but um the events are exactly

the same no matter where you go so

your goal can always be to just improve

your own score

Would you,

you've been doing CrossFit for a long

time,

so you may not be the perfect person

to ask this,

but when you look at these scores,

is there a way to tell where your

weaknesses are and where you need to work?

I would say so.

But it's also you'd have to do a

little bit of digging down because

depending on the workout,

like one rep is worth like way more

points, depending on how far you go down,

like it's kind of hard to explain,

but

Yeah, I mean,

you could definitely look at that and be

like, oh, yeah,

I didn't do that good in the, like,

one rep max snatch event.

That was my lowest score.

And so you can definitely sort and filter

and do all that stuff.

So, yeah, for sure.

I guess the big question is you've done

one now.

Yep.

Do you want to do another one to

beat your score?

Yes.

I want to do another one for a

million reasons, but yeah,

obviously to beat my score for sure.

I think it could become...

um something where like like they're gonna

be in cool places like you could use

it as an excuse to travel you could

use it as like people do that with

high rocks all the time like they want

to go to do high rocks italy and

it's like an excuse to go to italy

um i don't think there's going to be

as many xenon events as there are high

rocks events because high rocks is like an

hour but like

I definitely want to do another one,

and I think it's awesome training for the

games.

I think it's really cool.

It appeals to CrossFit athletes.

You couldn't just randomly do a Xenom.

There's definitely levels.

There's a Compete, which is scaled,

then there's RX, and then there's Elite.

And so you can definitely be like a

newer CrossFitter for sure,

but like you have to know what all

the movements are and be able to do

all the movements to sort of be able

to do one,

which I think is super cool.

Like I think it's got a lot of

potential to grow big.

As someone who has competed at the Games,

competed at so many different levels in

CrossFit,

did you feel like you could race?

Did I feel like I could push hard

for the whole day?

But know who was beside you.

Could you race...

yeah yeah like there was definitely so in

the elite women's there was two like there

was abigail domit and um emily rolf who

were like at the top and then there

was like a bunch of us who were

like sort of like all in the mix

um for the whole sort of weekend and

so you kind of got to see who

was there and who you wanted to beat

on certain events to try to like gain

points on them um

I think the goal for Xenom is obviously

to grow the event so it's quite large.

This was the first one,

so the elite women's heat only had ten

people in it.

The elite men's heat had quite a bit

more.

the rx men's also had a lot but

the elite women's only had ten in it

for whatever reason but yeah you

definitely wanted to race and you

definitely wanted to beat people and there

was for sure certain people who like i

wanted to be on certain events because it

knew i knew it would put me above

them in points so there is an element

of you're competing against yourself at

multiple different xenons ideally and then

you're still wanting to beat other people

for sure

So the owner before it launched said they

wanted to give athletes a special

experience.

Did you feel special?

Yeah, for sure.

You got a really cool,

at the end when you finished all the

events, you got this really nice bracelet.

I don't have it with me,

but it's like a nice piece of jewelry.

All weekend and leading up,

like the communication in terms of them

sending out emails with all the

information,

like directly tailored to you,

like it was all like, Megan,

here's your heat times,

like here's your scores,

like everything was very tailored to you.

um the check-in was good it was a

newer event so there was like a couple

little wrinkles that have to be ironed out

like in terms of check-in just a bit

of a long line and whatever but after

having gone through the whole weekend you

kind of like you're very accepting of

those things just because like it was a

brand new event and like to me like

they crushed it we have a couple comments

in the question in the chat uh does

it cater more to a spectator experience or

a participant experience

I think it could be both.

I think CrossFit tends to... Like,

the people who want to watch CrossFit,

I think, are, like,

usually other CrossFitters.

So, I mean,

I would say it's the same vibe where,

like,

people who would probably come to watch a

Xenom are going to be people who do

CrossFit.

But it is cool.

There's, like, multiple arenas,

they call them.

Multiple competition floors, really,

going at the same time.

And...

they all are like kind of separate but

spectators can go anywhere in and around

them so it's very accessible to people to

watch and like up close and personal like

right down on the floor one of the

events had a three k run in it

and it was all done inside like lapsed

and so people could be like right there

yelling and so like it's good it was

good it's like watching the games but

multiple things happening all around you

at the same time and like way more

events per day

Uh,

could you go a hundred percent on all

events or did you have to save yourself

for day two?

Um, I don't think that anyone who's,

I can only speak for myself,

but what I would say is like,

I don't think anyone who is a competitive

person, like consciously says, Oh,

I'm going to hold back here and try

to save myself for day two.

I think everyone, once you're out there,

you're kind of going a hundred percent.

Uh, that said,

like some of the events were quite short,

like, uh,

you know one of them was a one

minute max echo bite calorie not that that

was an easy event at all but it's

one minute and then one of them was

like a max snatch event so like although

like they're all really good tests some of

them are like less strenuous than others

so i think they did a really good

job of like planning them so that you're

never doing two really long events back to

back um by the end of day two

like

you know, you're a little tired,

but my last event was a twelve minute

workout of like rounds of movements and I

felt like I was still able to push

pretty hard.

It's definitely different than

Like I've been to the Games Masters a

few times and there's like, you know,

two or three events a day.

And I find in that case,

you're like warming up and cooling down a

few times in the day where I found,

especially day two for Xenom,

you kind of are staying warmed up like

the whole day.

There's not a lot of time to really

like leave the venue, go get food,

come back.

You're sort of kind of there,

which is good.

I like that a little better.

It's like almost less stressful because

you're just like in it.

So in that sense,

it's a little bit different.

But yeah,

like it's a lot of volume over two

days for sure.

I know that there have been complaints

about, especially with Masters athletes,

only getting seven events at the CrossFit

Games.

You got ten events in two days.

Did you prefer that to what's been

happening at the Masters Games?

I mean, I don't really think...

No,

I wouldn't say I wouldn't say yes or

no.

Like I like both.

The Masters games is I think I think

seven events is not horrible.

I mean, I might like more,

but I like a lot of volume,

so I don't know.

I don't have a huge problem with the

number of events at the Masters games.

That wouldn't be where my complaints would

lie on that topic.

The but I also really liked.

having like the amount of work at Xenon,

which is like compressed into two days,

like ten events for sure,

but some of them are very short and

it didn't really feel like a full event.

So it's like almost similar amount of

work,

but in Xenon was like two days where

Masters games is like three or sometimes

four.

Bootycat asks,

is it too much volume for normies?

no i don't think i think anyone who

does crossfit could come to a xenon and

have a wicked time and i saw like

like i said there's like three categories

compete is like a scaled then there's rx

and then there's elite and in the compete

and in the rx there was many ranges

of ages skill levels like it was super

cool uh any swag other than the bracelet

Um, there was a swag bag.

You had a shirt, um,

some other things in there.

You get like a cool name plate.

Um,

there's also photo packages that you can

add on.

Um, there wasn't like a lot of like,

you know, expensive swag,

but the things that you got were very

personalized.

Um, I thought it was good.

I got a couple more questions.

I'm going to try to pull Jamie on

to see if she has any questions for

you.

Sure.

I was listening.

No,

you seemed like you asked all the things

that I was curious about,

like was the volume too much,

all that kind of stuff.

So, I mean,

I think you kind of nailed it on

the head, Scott.

The only thing I would say that I

haven't said already is like,

they don't divide any,

you can filter and see like where you

would fit in,

in terms of your age group.

Like if you were a masters athlete,

but you know,

if you want to go in the elite

heat, which is what I wanted to do,

they don't elite doesn't care about your

age.

And like, I'm cool with that.

Like elite is elite.

And so your score is just like measured

against the standard.

So,

but you can like kind of filter and

see what other people are there who all

were like was in your age group there.

But in terms of like a master's,

they don't have like categories

specifically for master's.

So I was seeing more of the master's

athletes in the RX category.

um category versus the elite category

there was definitely like in the women's

in my heat i think there was two

women at least one but i think two

that were thirty five to thirty nine but

there was no one older

Well,

Jamie loves competing against elites.

She's been wanting to do that forever.

Yeah, you would love it, Jamie.

I like it, too.

Like,

I still feel like I can roll with

the young ones.

And, like, for me, that's, like,

a motivator.

And you kind of just, like,

quietly just do your thing throughout the

competition.

And then, all of a sudden, you're,

you know,

middle of the pack in a heat full

of really young girls.

And it kind of is motivating, so...

yeah i would if you ever get the

chance to do one like definitely do it

and definitely go elite for sure um did

you see many athlete withdrawals i don't

know like like no one in my heat

withdrew i don't know like in terms of

number of people who registered or who

didn't come i don't know i couldn't answer

that

I think they're asking more for the volume

of the weekend.

Oh, I didn't hear of any medical issues.

There was tons of medical staff there.

The judging was all really good.

I didn't see any injuries or withdrawals

personally, but I've got no idea.

I think I saw Josh Hicks post a

thing that said it was like days without

incident with the medical team and they,

and they made it like through the whole

weekend without an incident.

Yeah.

So I think that's, that's pretty cool.

Yeah.

It was cool.

Like, like I said, like,

This is the first event that they're

running, and it was big.

I think they had over five hundred

athletes competing,

which is a lot of athletes,

and it seemed like it was really,

really good.

The organizer is Wilson.

One of them is Wilson Pack,

and I chatted with him a few times

throughout,

and he said there was things behind the

scenes that like,

Small things that were happening,

but from an athletes perspective,

it was just going along.

I think one time like one of the

screens went out and they just quickly

fixed it.

But like everything ran super smooth on

time,

like the leaderboard was like so quick to

be updated.

The judging was great.

Yeah,

like I I don't have any like they're

gonna send out a survey and there's like

little things that I'll put but like

nothing, you know, major and you know,

I'm sometimes hard to please.

And so it Yeah,

like it was really good.

It was a blast.

So I'm going to two more questions and

we'll let you go, Megan.

So we have,

was there any adequate areas to rest and

recover or did you have to leave and

come back for each event?

I think she already answered that she

didn't leave.

No, there was actually a huge,

a huge athlete area.

where it was at this particular venue

which was the the Ford which is like

the Dallas Cowboys practice stadium and um

it was beautiful facility but in this

particular facility when you would come in

through the door athletes were allowed to

like have all their bags and stuff um

and then they could leave all their stuff

on one whole side of the stadium so

like all the bleachers on one whole side

of the stadium was like athlete area to

just chill they had microwaves over there

so you could heat your own food up

and whatever

And then the warmup area was all like

down on the, like the, the, you know,

whatever the turf, like the field level.

Um,

the one thing that I would say that

I didn't love, um,

and I'm curious to see if other athletes

had the same comments was like,

they didn't allow coaches in there, uh,

at all.

So like,

if you wanted to interact with your coach,

it had to be like, there,

they were basically just like a spectator.

There was no coach like pass.

Um,

So that took, for me,

that took a little bit of getting used

to because I have someone who comes and,

like, helps me warm up, usually.

So you're kind of on your own in

there unless, like,

your coach happened to also be competing.

So I didn't, like, super love that.

So that would be a piece of feedback

I will provide when I do my survey.

But, yeah,

you definitely didn't have to leave and

come back.

There was tons of athlete recovery area,

and I think that was something they really

wanted to do.

Yeah.

Okay, last question from the chat.

Was there a decent number of vendors for

spectators?

vendor area was a little thin um hopefully

the more the events run i think more

will come but there wasn't a lot of

vendors around they had a xenon like

selling xenon merch and then there was

like maybe three or four other ones um

that were selling stuff but yeah the

vendor area was not as it could be

for sure yeah that's not really important

for me so something i didn't really think

of but yeah there weren't a lot of

vendors there and i did hear uh

Peter from coffee pods and Watts.

He talked to the owner and he said

it was a really hard sell without getting

to show them anything.

Yeah.

Now that they have something to show.

Yeah.

Uh,

they can push a little bit more towards

some vendors.

Yeah.

Um, the floor looked amazing.

It was cool.

and they did a drone shot around the

stadium.

They looked amazing.

In person, it looked just as good.

Yeah, it was.

In person, it looked just as cool,

and they were kind of mysterious about it.

So on athlete check-in,

which was the Friday,

we started competing on Saturday,

you would go into the front doors of

the stadium,

like, the lobby kind of area.

But they had, like,

the windows into the competition floor,

like, so you couldn't see.

So, like, I still couldn't see it, which,

like, I was, like,

trying to sneak in and, like, get, like,

a view of it.

I think some people did.

But anyway,

and then the next day when we, like,

came ready for competition,

you got to see it for the first

time.

And it was, like,

definitely very impressive.

Like, in terms of the visual aspect,

it is more impressive than the games like

they they had led screens for every arena

with huge clocks on them like it looked

awesome everything was blue um there was

like cool carpeting around that was blue

it was really neat and the way that

they ran the events was on this like

giant clock so it was cool like say

you're doing event one and the event was

like you know a five minute

event and then between heats there's like

a two minute window let's just say it'd

be like big green numbers for the for

the like when you're going and then as

soon as the event was over it was

like the numbers turned red it was two

minutes then the next heat would come in

like it was all like very flowy and

and good um so it kept everything like

just like perfectly on the clock but yeah

visually it looked pretty spectacular the

rig was huge yeah it was cool

some of the footage i saw the big

um tv screens with the clocks on them

yeah were they need to go to those

at every event yeah like they it's so

hard to find the clock at the crossfit

games yeah it was cool and they were

all leds like they were nice probably

really expensive like i think there's a

lot of money behind the event um and

yeah it was it showed for sure

So here's my last question.

In three weeks,

the two of you are going to become

competitors.

Is there any trash talking that you two

want to do before you go on the

floor?

No.

I don't know.

I get so stressed out at the games.

When I go to the games,

I feel just like...

I don't know.

No, there's definitely no trash talking.

I get nervous.

Jamie's a beast.

She'll beat me on everything.

And yeah.

Are you getting coached by Taylor at the

event?

I need to message him and see what

the plan is.

Yeah.

Because I don't know if their focus is

media or what.

I think they're planning to go.

I think they have a few athletes.

I'm hoping they are because I want them

there.

Well, they're going to be there.

I mean,

I've heard them say they're going to be

there on like Sunday, I think.

But like...

I mean, he's, you know, I don't know.

When he's on with Sivan,

it seems like they're, like,

talking about trying to, like,

set up a workout that they'll do out

of the hopper.

And, like, so, like, well,

if you're trying to do media stuff and

you're trying to, like,

it won't be at the Masters games, maybe.

I mean, I don't know.

There is, like, six of us, so.

Yeah.

I hope they come.

I'm, like, banking on it.

I know.

I'll need them there.

Yeah, for sure.

They're great.

But, yeah, no,

I don't want to trash talk anybody.

I can't.

I'm too insecure.

Tessa asks if Taylor coaches Jamie.

He actually coaches both.

They're both Sentinel athletes.

Yeah.

So not only are they in the same

age group, at the same CrossFit Games,

with the same Sentinel training.

Yeah, it was fun last year.

I loved that.

Yeah,

there was like me and Jamie and Julia

and who else was there?

Jessica.

Yeah,

and like we were all in the same,

I don't know,

it just felt like we were competing

against each other,

but like we were also just like hanging

out.

It was cool.

Well, Megan,

thank you so much for taking some time

out of your Sunday night.

My pleasure.

It was awesome.

Really enjoyed getting a firsthand look at

or an account of what happened at Xenon.

We're all excited to see how it's going

to be and if it's going to survive.

But by all accounts,

it sounds like it went off pretty well

without a hitch.

Yeah, I think so.

From my perspective, it totally did.

Hopefully everyone else had the same feels

and like it can be a really huge

event and just like keep the ball rolling.

Yeah.

Well, thank you.

No problem.

Have a great rest of your night and

safe travels home.

Thank you.

Bye, guys.

Bye.

See you soon.

Megan Apostolaris, CrossFit Games athlete,

Xenon participant.

Thank you so much for your time.

That was awesome.

Yeah,

I didn't really know she was doing that.

That's awesome.

I'm glad she got that experience.

I like the fact that she went up

against the other elite athletes.

That's what I had registered as when I

was trying to get the free invite or

whatever that Caroline got.

That's what I had signed up as.

Yeah.

Because I know you do have that desire

to see how you would, in some events,

see how you would...

I hate the snatch event, though.

Like,

it wouldn't even matter if I was

competing.

I honestly probably would do just as bad

in the regular, like, the RX category.

Because sometimes there's just stronger

people in those categories.

They don't have the skills.

Yeah, but I look at, like,

Emily Rolfe's score,

and she didn't do well on the snatch,

and she almost won.

And Abby won the snatch,

and with a very high score.

So...

I'll pull up the leaderboard so we can

just wrap this up a little bit.

Did she say how many people were in

a heat?

Well, there was only ten elite women.

Oh, really?

Yeah.

So let me go back here.

Okay.

So here's the final leaderboard.

And you can see there's Abby Doman at

one, Emily Rolfe two, Samantha Pugh three,

Megan took fifth.

Nice.

And then there's only ten athletes.

That's crazy.

How many elite men did it?

Sixteen or seventeen.

Okay.

We'll go to that next.

Farlow won.

William Leahy second.

Raleigh Martin third.

Got people like Mike Needleman.

Wow.

Wow.

Oh, wow, there's way more of that.

Yeah.

But E.J.

Hine may have been... Well,

here's a couple that didn't finish.

Dan Bailey.

Oh, wait.

Oh, Dan Bailey pulled out.

Three people did not finish.

Hmm.

So there's the answer to Jeremy's

question.

Yeah.

And someone didn't start but finished.

What happened there?

A couple of them just didn't do the

snatch at all.

Oh, that would be me.

but they were given a final score maybe

they just went out there and missed both

lifts you'd think it would say zero though

but that's that's weird yeah could be or

they got stuck in traffic yeah i'm curious

how big the floor is like how many

people like if if there's twenty lanes or

what it is exactly and how it gets

seated and since

I mean, it's only two days,

so do they reseed it after the first

day?

And then that's it?

Yeah,

it looked like the areas looked big enough

to hold more than ten.

Yeah.

Like twenty at a time, probably?

Yeah, that's what I would guess, twenty.

And then when we look at the pairs,

what I found interesting is the women's

and men's pairs are both on the same

leaderboard.

Oh, wow.

Unless you break it down from there.

That's interesting.

But because the...

How do you do that with a snatch?

Well,

it's whatever level you get as a woman

is still based on the thousand points.

thing so it's gonna it may be a

three hundred and thirty pound snatch for

a man but it may be a two

thirty snatch for a woman and it's still

be seven right because at the end of

the day Kyra and Olivia beat Colton and

Chris oh boy yeah well that's kind of

neat yeah Jacob Marlowe and Travis

Williams that are in third Jake Douglas

Adam Clink and fourth

Georgia Pryor and Maisie Wilde in fifth.

So some pretty decent teams.

Yep.

But you can see there's the – now

these two teams almost hit ten thousand

points.

They were in the nine thousands.

Wow.

And that's what – the one thing I

would say about this,

I think Abby won with eight thousand-ish,

is that –

Abby's a great athlete and she's a

multiple time games participant.

She hasn't yet to finish top ten.

Right?

Emma Rolfe has finished top ten.

Yep.

But other than that,

you're looking at women who have never

been to the games.

Right.

So I'd be anxious to see what the

tip of the spear would do on this.

Yeah,

you want to see what James Sprague can

finish and you want to see what, like,

well, shoot,

is Tia the only one who could get

the thousand points or whatever it is?

I think,

I don't think a thousand is necessarily

the goal on every event.

I think they want to leave room for

improvement because they don't want to

change this for twenty years.

Right.

And they said initially,

this wasn't really for the tip of the

spear.

This is like a fantasy camp for those

that might have been just under the line.

Now,

I heard Colton say they were using this

as games prep.

It was a way to get intensity into

their workouts three weeks before the

games.

They worked out and did full day of

programming on Friday.

at a gym in Houston,

then went Saturday and Sunday.

Yeah.

That's smart.

That makes sense.

So when I heard that, I was like,

that makes a ton of sense for a

games athlete.

Yeah.

Especially pairs.

Yes.

Yeah.

It can be really hard to simulate that,

that little bit of intensity on the floor

and,

And yeah,

they'll simulate like you just can't quite

do that.

Maybe in the camps they can a little

better.

But I think I do think this is

kind of great,

a great training atmosphere.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And I think the most encouraging thing I

heard from all the stuff I watched was

people say,

I really want to come back and beat

my score.

And if people are saying that,

you got something.

Yeah.

Now, and Megan said glowing things,

but are there people leaving going, well,

damn, that was, that sucked.

And they just didn't put them on camera?

True.

And I'm sure we're going to,

if there are those people,

we'll hear about that in the coming week.

But what, like, I'd be curious,

what would they say sucked?

The workout?

Like, they just weren't, like, I mean,

really, what could,

if it's a well-run comp,

and you know what you signed, like,

you know the workouts you signed up for,

I don't know what you could really bash.

If assuming things like it runs on time,

there's a proper warmup area,

there's enough equipment.

Like if all four hundred people hang out

in the warmup area,

randomly warming up all day.

Sure, that could be a mess,

but it doesn't sound like that was an

issue.

It doesn't sound like this one was full.

So.

I mean,

if you do get what are they're trying

to have a thousand athletes participate in

these things.

So eventually, two thousand.

So and they what they told Peter is

they're starting with five hundred London.

They want a thousand.

The next one, they want fifteen hundred,

which I think is Miami.

OK.

And then the next one, two thousand.

But we want to build it up slow.

And supposedly they're in it for the long

haul.

Um,

they have a ton of money and the

floor looked expensive.

One can only assume they have a ton

of money,

but in my conversation with Wilson,

like they own all that.

That's awesome.

And so they pack that up.

He,

he's storing it just North of me here,

uh, in a warehouse.

He already told me that they got one

there and, uh, they own it all.

So once you make that initial purpose

purchase, uh,

Maybe you'll have to replace a LED screen

every once in a while.

That is going to be incredibly expensive

to ship to London.

So he has two warehouses.

Okay.

All right.

They're going to buy a set of equipment

in the States.

Okay.

And they're going to buy a set of

equipment overseas.

That makes sense because logistically that

does not see how that works.

When is London supposed to be?

Why'd you have to ask me that?

Like, are they every three months?

Are they trying to do four a year

on the quarter or what?

Like what's the plan?

Um, London is August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August, August, August,

August, August, August,

August

Couple months.

Two months.

So two months.

So you're going to try to do six

a year?

I don't think they're going to try to

do a ton this year.

I think it's going to be three or

four.

Well,

four is a lot when you're halfway through

the year.

Yeah.

How many high rocks has happened in a

year?

I don't know.

Ten, twelve?

Seems like thirty to me, but okay.

Yeah, I don't know.

I mean,

I feel like there's like four or five

overseas and five or six here.

I don't know.

It seems like there's only like twelve,

maybe every month.

I feel like they're like every month.

There's a high rocks.

So if you did every other month and

you did six here.

Yeah.

Is that a similar date to WFP two?

I know WFP two is at the end

of August.

I don't know.

But again,

I don't think Xenom is trying to get

the elite athlete.

True.

That's not their main goal.

And from what I hear,

elite athletes can only get in by invite

only.

Oh, really?

Yeah,

that's another thing Peter said from

talking to them.

The elite division will be small.

Okay.

The RX Compete are like securing your

ticket, getting those.

I see.

so so anyway there it is fun i'm

excited for them i'm excited to see it

i mean i'm excited for them to get

us a live stream of it because it

would be fun to follow along yeah he

also said with that is they wanted to

get everything ironed out before they put

up a broadcast and they want the broadcast

to make sense for people who watch

And until you understand it,

until you know the flow,

and until they can get rep counters on

the screen and all of that stuff,

they don't want to put out a subpar

broadcast.

Makes perfect sense.

So, and when I heard that,

I was like, apparently,

at least they're thinking through these

things.

So...

was one other thing i wanted to mention

and now i can't even oh i wanted

to thank um at mishi meech for in

good luck ladies um that is another again

if you missed the top of the show

any super chats

donated this week from today through next

Sunday night show,

that money will go to Jamie and Carolyn

to help them make their way to the

CrossFit Games.

Thank you.

Michi Mich.

Gotta be a Michelle, right?

The picture would say so.

I'm wondering if it's Michelle from

Michigan.

Yeah, that would be cool.

So, anyway.

They apparently let people broadcast from

their phones, which is cool.

At least we could see bits and pieces.

Yeah,

but just like any big sporting event where

there's a lot of people with a lot

of cell phones,

everything starts to depixelize.

Everybody's just talking about all your

muscle groups.

Oh, well, yeah, this is different.

Triceps, delts.

Jamie's delts are too big for her skin.

They're not.

My delts aren't even that big.

Like I said,

I did like a hundred and eighty push-ups

yesterday or something stupid.

Yeah, this is a different angle.

Why?

I don't know.

It was a push-up workout.

Dang.

Okay.

So there's that.

When you lost power,

we were talking about the games,

leaderboard.

Oh, yeah.

Pretty much final.

Yeah.

And people are announcing it.

Right.

And, um, but,

and there's been no movement.

So again,

the women are wrapped as follow Gazan

already qualified Lohan, Garnas,

Chevrie and Bjorn's daughter and Tynan.

Dang, Carolyn Stanley.

I know.

And it ended up only being five points.

Yeah.

Is Pat still one point out or one

point like in?

In, last I checked.

By one point.

So he'd be like the only one that

probably wouldn't post that he's in until

he... He said on Girls Unfiltered,

with it being one point,

he's not posting anything until he gets

the letter.

Yeah.

On the men's side, we have Guy,

Quinn Robinson, Nick Matthew,

Justin Medeiros, Spencer Pancheck.

How about four Panchecks going to the

CrossFit Games?

Crazy.

That's insane.

Colton Mertens and Patrick Vellner.

Again,

you see Patrick Vellner with sixty-two.

Ari Lightfoot with sixty-three.

Closes tomorrow.

With that one point,

any toggle of a point

Just messes it all up.

But I think Pat said on Girls Unfiltered,

he even holds the tiebreakers on Harry at

this point.

That's true.

So it would be two points.

Yeah.

Yeah, don't count your chickens.

I wonder if Pat will do athlete interview

with Dave if he makes it.

Be good theater.

Dave has been very forgiving on his end.

I just don't know if they're going to

be reciprocated or not.

Agreed.

Last week,

I was binge-watching Dave athlete

interviews.

I have not really caught very many of

them.

I need to go watch them.

I think they're pretty good.

I think he's gotten better.

I noticed he's pumped out a ton this

weekend.

Okay.

So I'm way behind again.

Dylan was this weekend, Dylan Hamming.

Oh, nice.

I'll have to catch up.

It was like Enola Kai, Callum Clemens.

So a lot of that group that just

qualified recently.

Tudor?

Or was that one already done?

Tudor was earlier.

Okay.

Tudor was a good one.

It's funny because the people that were on

his demo team,

There's this bond.

And Tudor was on the demo team with

him.

And so Tudor's so shy.

Yeah.

And he's gotten a lot better since you

and I have interviewed him.

But with Dave, he was very relaxed.

I think he's definitely gaining some

confidence.

I mean,

I mean,

CrossFit will do that for you in the

gym and out of the gym.

Actually,

I just had chaired one of Greg's gym

creatives that Sousa had put out some of

his quotes.

And, you know,

like CrossFit just makes you a better

person in general.

I think gaining that confidence in the gym

is, you know,

it's only helping him in every aspect of

his life.

is tutor shy or just a child tutor

shy i just think he's an introvert very

much yeah like if i look like tudor

i would be the biggest extrovert in the

world i'd be walking to the grocery store

shirtless i would be like put me on

gq that man is hot i am a

straight man but that dude is hot i'm

surprised he doesn't have more of the

ladies

Knocking down his door.

I thought Kyra's was the best.

I thought Lydia Fish's was the best.

I liked Lydia's questions to Dave.

We got to know how long Dave has

been married.

We got to know about his family life.

No other athlete has dove into that

before.

Well,

he doesn't always share that kind of

stuff.

That's awesome that she asked that.

I love that.

Yeah, it was great.

uh uh tutor was great on the glintons

yeah they really loosened him up and it

was good it was a good interview um

uh the greatest adaptation to crossfit

takes place between the ears some greg guy

say that said this and very true

Very true.

And I think that is something Tudor did

have to work on.

Yes.

And last year he took tenth.

I cannot wait to see what the follow-up

is.

So.

What else do we have?

We had a couple announcements this week.

Pig, snail, bike.

Oh, yeah.

It's all exciting.

I think that's super exciting.

Those are implements I think people have

been wanting to see again.

And I think it just brings you more

to the outdoor event type atmosphere when

you get implements like that,

which people have been asking for.

I love it.

I've been asking for them.

I'm excited.

So now we have hopper, pig, snail, bike,

pool.

And there's one other thing I know I'm

missing, but we have a lot of implements.

That means I think a more well-rounded,

better for the spectator.

Is Tudor disappointed if he finishes tenth

again?

I think he would be,

but as an analyst,

I would say it's such a hard field.

It is a very difficult field.

I think anyone in the top ten is

literally world class.

The top ten is going to be crazy.

Whoever finishes in the top ten should

have no disappointments.

I think it is not unreasonable to think

that the gap between first and tenth is

the smallest we've ever seen.

Yeah.

I just think.

I mean,

podiums are going to be crazy on both

sides, honestly.

I think it's exciting on both sides.

um well no specialized bikes i don't i

don't know i if if i were to

pick the bike workout i want bike repeater

to come back and that was that's the

rope climb one yep yep oh that's cool

it was the most simplistic bike ride

but the most fun with the rope climbing

it.

Yeah.

So... Earlier this week,

I did mention an idea to fix the

games.

Oh, what was that?

So I think...

We're at a place where spectators are

dwindling.

I agree.

People are not watching like they used to.

And when I say people,

I'm not talking about you, me,

or the people in the chat.

We are there every week for everything,

no matter if it's on an iPhone or

whatever.

Agreed.

I think we need to strip everything back

and only ten men and ten women make

the CrossFit Games.

Because that is your spectacle, right?

And if you think of the spectacle in

every other sport,

it's a championship game.

Even the Olympics are one heat for the

gold medal.

That's because there's so much going on at

the Olympics.

But the Super Bowl is down to two

teams.

The

It just is.

Now think about it as a spectator and

not you as a geek to the sport.

An event would be done in twenty to

thirty minutes.

So it's not an all day sit in

front of your computer watch.

Well, what are you having them do?

Four events a day over three days?

It's still every two hours.

You can catch up at the end of

the day.

It's a couple quick events.

It's one heat per.

I don't know that I would prefer that.

I'm not asking if you would prefer it.

I know that people already scroll ahead.

Like if you were,

if you're going to go watch it,

if you're at home for the weekend,

you fast forward to the last heat.

Correct.

Correct.

Which is like exact.

It wouldn't matter.

It'd be the exact same, but that,

but a person coming off the street isn't

going to know to fast forward past all

this stuff to get to the last heat.

So how is the,

the broadcast litter is just like,

Event one, and then it turns off.

And then a new show pops up,

event two.

It's a different YouTube feed every time.

So it's event one, event two,

and you go...

Or I think it's a better sell to

networks.

It would fit in a half-hour show.

It would fit in a streaming.

Why can't you post-produce that anyway and

be like...

here was our four events from the day

and here of these four top heats.

Here we go.

Post-produced sports suck.

Most what?

Post-produced sports suck.

Well, it would be, you can't, that's,

but that's exactly,

you would post-produce that.

Like you're not selling that to the

network.

Hey, we're going to have these three,

we're going to have these four events.

They're going to be every two hours for

twenty minutes.

Like, how are you getting that on

Network TV.

Now hear me out.

Did we, when we were on ESPN,

the last couple of times we were on

ESPN,

didn't we run live events on like Friday

night, Saturday, Sunday afternoon?

Yes.

I think they,

I think they did their mile run in

the, in the bag sprint.

Yeah.

Right, but if you only had one heat,

you don't have to dictate your programming

to the network.

Whatever it's going to be,

unless you do MRF or some kind of

long run or whatever,

you can fit it into a half an

hour show.

How are you fitting it into a half

hour show is what I'm asking.

By post-producing it, right?

No, run it live.

How are you doing four events?

You can't do that.

I didn't say four events.

When we were on ESPN before live...

You're just taking one of their events.

You're just going to say event four is

going to be on TV?

Right.

And on ESPN on a Sunday,

they're trying to fill time.

You could run one or two of them.

You could do that.

You could do that with...

Again, you would just be like,

here's our final heat, put this live,

which I kind of think they did anyway.

You didn't even get in on the first

heat when they put it on that.

Okay,

but there's nobody showing up either

because who wants to sit through the same

workout eight times?

If I'm going to go there and I'm

going to be there at eight a.m.

for event one and then back in there

at eleven a.m.

for event two and then back in there

at one thirty at one thirty p.m.

for event three and back in there at

four for if I went and spent the

money to go watch,

I'd rather if I wanted to be able

to sit there and watch for eight straight

hours.

What the heck?

Then I'm not going to go.

But you're looking at this as you.

I mean,

I don't know about the general fan who

I mean, there's a lot of problems.

And I think, though,

to do it down to ten at the

games,

you have to have a much better season

to get there.

A much more straightforward,

linear season that makes sense,

that creates drama getting there.

And then the championships are the ten

elite athletes going head to head.

I don't like the point system for a

ten-person event.

When they did the ten people...

You have to strip this down to nothing

and start over.

I don't know.

The only thing I think could be good

about it is if they somehow involved the

community at these events because there's

all this dead time in between events.

That's the only way it could work.

Yes.

Yes.

But

But I feel like that's what was great

about everyone all together.

And there was something for everybody.

And it was,

you had the spectator workout or area,

like they already had it nailed down and

it was doing great.

Like you don't need to cut it back

to make it do great.

You needed to keep it all inclusive.

Okay.

We have, we have multiple problems.

We have a season that doesn't make sense.

We have dwindling attendance at events.

We have dwindling numbers on streaming.

And no vendors are showing up anymore

because nobody goes to the vendors.

So if you have downtime,

more people would go to the vendor village

to go to the vendors to spend money.

Let's think about like Wadapalooza.

There's these big gaps during the elite

individual events.

And people go into the vendor village

during those times.

And that's why Wadapalooza's vendor

village is three times the size of the

games.

Yeah,

but there's also like two thousand people

there.

Again,

it's because it's more inclusive and

everyone's there competing.

And they bring their friends and family.

If you cut the fields down,

you could add a couple of the age

groups in to fill some of that gap.

But only ten of them get to come

to the games, too.

One, the ticket prices are way too much.

Agreed.

I think that's your biggest issue.

But it's more than a one-issue fix, right?

And whether you like my idea or not,

someone has to sit down and just strip

it down to bare bones and start and

not do things because we've always done

them or because we did them ten years

ago and it worked ten years ago.

The younger generation will not sit down

for lengthy periods of time to watch

something.

You have to make it easy for them

to see it on their phone.

You have to make it quick and easy

to see.

And the numbers show that we are not

getting people to the games.

And whether that's ticket prices or too

long of an event, I mean, my God,

I love, love the Masters games.

I get sick of the same event for

twenty seven heats.

I agree.

I mean, I feel like.

I feel like the teens need to be

with the younger masters and then like the

older master.

I mean, I don't know,

maybe even split the fourteen fifteen off

with the older because I feel like the

programming is needs to be different.

Weights need to be different.

I think you can make the sixteen to

seventeen up to like fifty.

A little bit more difficult programming.

And it wouldn't be.

Seventeen heats.

I agree.

It'd be four heats.

I'm the one that said Masters should cut.

After forty nine.

Yeah.

Until we figure this stuff out.

Like.

Trying to fit this.

The Titanic.

Into a new.

A new port is nearly impossible.

It sucks because I feel... Truly,

I feel like the Masters are the sport

of CrossFit.

I know everyone says the Elites are

bringing the money, but do they?

If the Masters don't sign up for the

Open, there's not even really a season.

Look at the numbers.

It's the Masters.

I do...

I understand what you're saying.

And this is probably the biggest problem

with CrossFit as the sport.

To separate it from the methodology is

very hard.

The methodology is being put into practice

by the Masters athletes, right?

But nobody watches the Champions Tour on

the PGA as much as they watch the

regular PGA Tour.

It's just a fact.

People want to see the best of the

best.

I just say, whittle it down.

But again,

you better get the right ten there.

Because now you're down to ten.

So the season has to make more sense.

Right.

And I feel like the year of the

ten was not well done.

In my mind, I have...

some way to go smaller venue or affiliate

or whatever way you want to go to

get, to get down to like,

you qualify out of this just like,

and I know we're not the NFL,

but the NFL has divisions.

You have to win your division to make

the playoffs.

And then there's a couple wild cards,

right?

You have divisions around the world.

You have to win your division to get

to the games.

If you don't win your division,

you have to be a wild card.

And it has to be very specific how

you qualify as a wild card.

But as the funnel gets smaller,

the drama gets greater.

And if you make that funnel,

it's really hard to take two thousand

people qualifying for semifinals and put

drama around that.

Mm hmm.

right right if only the top two hundred

make it out of quarters there's a lot

of drama around quarters yeah and so it's

all about what is more consumable for a

viewer a spectator what brings the drama

back to this that it makes sense

But we have like, oh, my gosh,

I want to call this season last chance

you because everybody has multiple

chances.

It doesn't.

It's as it is so aggravating.

Yeah.

there are years that teams get upset and

don't make it through the playoffs.

And like everybody thought the Celtics

would go far in the playoffs this year,

they get beat early by a bad seventy

sixers team and the NBA went on and

had a great successful season.

Right.

There were still storylines.

There were still great things to watch.

Didn't hurt.

They got New York into the finals and

that's a big population.

Yeah.

But

That's what makes sports great.

You have to play the game.

If you don't show up on that day

to play the game, you're out.

I think that's why regionals was so

exciting.

It was your shot.

You couldn't, if you were sick, it sucked.

Yeah.

You were going to miss out that year.

Yeah.

So

As the quote actually goes,

you play to win the game.

And the more times you have to play

to win the games, to win the game,

to move on, the more drama it becomes.

I mean,

look at the college football playoff.

That thing was so unpredictable the last

couple of years.

You seed the people because of their

season.

And who would have picked Indiana to win

the national championship?

It didn't mean that people didn't enjoy

the championship game.

Just because Ohio State was at home this

year.

I love that Ohio State was home this

year.

Gave Indiana a shot.

So.

There would need to be more consistency

with the semifinals.

Amen.

Yes.

Yeah, absolutely.

I also believe that the semifinals,

the one thing we've gotten away from is

the surprise of what happens at the games.

When you have eleven semifinals doing

eleven groups of workouts,

there's nothing left to be new with when

you get to the games.

When you had all the regionals doing the

same six workouts,

there was a lot of stuff you didn't

get to see those people do until they

got to the games.

I agree.

I think that's where we've just become

oversaturated.

The space is oversaturated.

I understand CrossFit wanting to offload

things,

but those comps need to just be those

comps for...

their own thing and they shouldn't be a

part of the season if it you know

like people who aren't in the season go

do those comps and they should be big

community events like I think CrossFit

needs to be in charge of the entire

season with standard programming across

everything so that yeah so yeah you don't

like you are in charge of the programming

so the whole season makes sense here's the

hot take

In CrossFit, the methodology,

we want to help everybody become

successful and do well.

In sport,

you have to hurt people's feelings.

And CrossFit's afraid to do it.

CrossFit doesn't want to hurt anybody's

feelings.

They don't want the boo-hooing and

bitching about what happened during the

season.

So they let everybody have ten chances.

And they put in a last chance qualifier.

And they do all this...

All because they don't want people to have

hurt feelings.

Back in the regional days,

people got their feelings hurt.

And that's when CrossFit was the most

successful.

Because if people are getting their

feelings hurt, it matters.

Yeah.

So enough of the boohooing and crying

around.

We want that back.

We want the boohoo and the crying around

because that's what brings emotion to the

sport.

With that, that's all I got for tonight.

Don't forget all Super Chats,

all donations go to Jamie and Carolyn for

the next week.

Got to get these girls to the games.

With that, hope you have a great week.

We'll be back tomorrow with lunch with the

Clydesdale and the Cowboy.

Until then,

hope everybody has a great night and we'll

see you tomorrow.

Bye guys.

Sunday
