Breeze Assistant connectors let you ask about Gong, Slack, Xero, and other apps from inside HubSpot.
Sidekick's What Just Shipped is the fast, friendly way to keep up with HubSpot without reading every release note yourself. Each episode, AI hosts Rob and Dana take one feature HubSpot shipped and tell you where it stands right now: what changed, how it got here, who it's for, and what to do on Monday. Rob explains. Dana pushes back. Nobody pretends.
Every episode starts from Sidekick Strategies research on the HubSpot Updates page at sidekickstrategies.com and is checked against official HubSpot sources. If something isn't confirmed, the hosts say so out loud. Episodes run six to eight minutes, and new ones arrive five a week while we catch up on recent releases.
Presented by Sidekick Strategies, a HubSpot solutions partner.

Dana (AI host): You've got Gong, Slack, and Xero open in three tabs, and you want one answer from inside HubSpot.
Rob (AI host): Breeze Assistant connectors do that now, and HubSpot's app list is longer than the launch list.
Dana (AI host): Stay for the Xero part, because a connector and a data sync are not the same thing.
Narrator (AI voice): This is Sidekick's What Just Shipped, presented by Sidekick Strategies.
Narrator (AI voice): Your hosts, Rob and Dana, are AI.
Narrator (AI voice): The voices are synthetic, the research is real, and humans check every claim before it reaches you.
Dana (AI host): Dana here, with Rob, and yes, we're both AI hosts.
Dana (AI host): Today: Breeze connectors for apps like Fathom, Slack, Canva, Gong, Xero, and Box, from HubSpot's help articles, updated in October.
Rob (AI host): Fresh seat: today I'm playing a hypothetical RevOps manager whose team lives in Gong, Slack, and Xero, and who wants answers without the tab hopping.
Dana (AI host): Good pick, that's exactly who asks for this.
Dana (AI host): Why it matters: HubSpot says connected apps let you get insights and complete tasks without leaving HubSpot.
Rob (AI host): So what does a connector actually do?
Dana (AI host): Breeze Assistant can retrieve information and complete supported actions in the connected app.
Rob (AI host): Our research listed the launch apps as Fathom, Xero, Box, Canva, Gong, and Slack.
Dana (AI host): All of them are on HubSpot's list today, and the full list has eighteen apps, from Amplitude and Atlassian to Linear and Google Calendar.
Rob (AI host): And the ones our research called coming later?
Dana (AI host): Google Drive, Gmail, and NetSuite are listed now, and Zoom is listed as beta.
Rob (AI host): Is the agent list the same?
Dana (AI host): Close, not identical. HubSpot's AI agents list adds Zapier, and NetSuite isn't on it.
Rob (AI host): Which plans?
Dana (AI host): For Breeze Assistant connectors, HubSpot lists all products and plans.
Dana (AI host): For connecting apps to agents, it's Starter and up on the hubs, or Smart CRM Professional and up.
Rob (AI host): Our research said every tier for both.
Dana (AI host): True for the assistant.
Dana (AI host): For agents, HubSpot's article starts at Starter, and some agents may use HubSpot Credits.
Rob (AI host): Okay, connecting one. Say, Gong.
Dana (AI host): Click Breeze Assistant in the top navigation, click the plus sign, then go to Connectors, then Add connector.
Dana (AI host): Click Connect on the app.
Rob (AI host): Then what?
Dana (AI host): Sign in to your account for that app, review the permissions it needs, and click Allow.
Dana (AI host): You need your own account for each app you connect.
Rob (AI host): And if the sales team already connected Gong inside Agent Builder?
Dana (AI host): Then it's already available in Breeze Assistant, with no second connection.
Rob (AI host): What can each app do once it's connected?
Dana (AI host): It varies.
Dana (AI host): HubSpot says each app supports a different set of actions, and the responses depend on the connected app.
Rob (AI host): So how does the team find out what Gong can do?
Dana (AI host): Plus sign, Connectors, Manage connectors, then Manage on the app card.
Dana (AI host): The Overview lists available actions and example requests.
Rob (AI host): And if someone asks about an app nobody connected?
Dana (AI host): Breeze Assistant tells you the app isn't connected, and then gives you instructions for connecting it, right in the chat.
Rob (AI host): Now agents. Can an agent use these apps too?
Dana (AI host): Yes.
Dana (AI host): HubSpot connects its AI agents to outside apps through the Model Context Protocol, so agents can use live business data and take actions without custom code.
Rob (AI host): What example does HubSpot give?
Dana (AI host): A revenue operations team connects an agent to Gong and Notion to analyze customer conversations and generate account planning summaries.
Rob (AI host): That's basically the job of the manager I'm playing.
Rob (AI host): How do you attach an app to an agent?
Dana (AI host): In Agent Hub, open the Agents tab and clone the agent from its menu.
Dana (AI host): In the Actions section, click Add action, open the Connectors tab, and click Connect and add.
Rob (AI host): Anything app specific?
Dana (AI host): HubSpot says each supported app has its own configuration requirements, and recommends checking each app's own website.
George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Hey, it's George B. Thomas from Sidekick Strategies.
George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Full honesty, this is my AI voice clone, made with my permission.
George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): A connector can read your other tools, but your systems still have to agree on who owns what.
George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Sidekick's RevOps and integration team connects HubSpot to your billing, support, and other platforms, with sync rules and error monitoring.
George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): We start with your humans, then the tools.
George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Look for RevOps and Integration under services at Sidekick Strategies dot com.
Rob (AI host): Now Xero. The team already syncs Xero with HubSpot. Is a connector the same thing?
Dana (AI host): No. The Xero Data Sync integration syncs contacts, products, invoices, and payments between the two systems.
Dana (AI host): A connector lets Breeze Assistant retrieve information and take supported actions when you ask.
Rob (AI host): Who installs the sync?
Dana (AI host): A Super Admin, or someone with App Marketplace permissions.
Dana (AI host): Custom field mappings need at least Data Hub Starter.
Rob (AI host): Ah. Two different jobs, then.
Dana (AI host): Right. HubSpot documents them as separate tools, in separate help articles.
Rob (AI host): And Slack?
Dana (AI host): Slack works in both directions. As a connector, Breeze Assistant can search it from HubSpot.
Dana (AI host): And when you use Breeze Assistant inside Slack, you at-mention it in a channel or thread each time you want an answer.
Rob (AI host): How should the team write prompts that search these apps?
Dana (AI host): HubSpot suggests four parts: the task, the context, the response format, and a search focus, like app names, files, folders, or dates.
Dana (AI host): You can also add up to five web links as context.
Rob (AI host): And choose which apps it searches?
Dana (AI host): The Apps dropdown in the right panel lets you check specific apps, or switch on Use all apps as sources.
Rob (AI host): Can it filter the results, like unread emails only, from a single sender?
Dana (AI host): Not through filters.
Dana (AI host): HubSpot says to use each app's own search syntax instead, and its example is a Gmail search for unread mail from one sender last month.
Rob (AI host): And when it wants to change something in Gong or Xero?
Dana (AI host): You're prompted to grant the access it needs, and user permissions still decide which actions are possible.
Rob (AI host): Skeptic time.
Rob (AI host): Our research said these connectors run on MCP, setup takes under two minutes, and shared agents should use a service account.
Dana (AI host): Here's what we couldn't confirm. HubSpot's agent article says MCP, but the Breeze Assistant article doesn't.
Dana (AI host): We found no setup time and no service account guidance, and Box admin steps aren't in HubSpot's articles either.
Rob (AI host): So treat those as our research's advice, not HubSpot's word.
Dana (AI host): Okay, a connector plan, hypothetical RevOps manager.
Rob (AI host): Step one: check that the app is on HubSpot's list, and that you have an account for it.
Dana (AI host): Step two: connect it with Add connector, then read its actions in Manage connectors.
Rob (AI host): Step three, our suggestion: keep the Xero sync for records, and use the connector for questions.
Dana (AI host): Step four: for agents, confirm you're on Starter or up before you plan anything.
Rob (AI host): RevOps manager's verdict: worth connecting this week for Gong and Slack questions, as long as you check HubSpot's list and plans first.
Dana (AI host): Ask across your tools, but check the list first.
Rob (AI host): HubSpot's help articles and our research are linked in the show notes, with more at Sidekick Strategies dot com.
Dana (AI host): Thanks for connecting with us.
Rob (AI host): Connect the app you open most first.
