Perfectionism is a double-edged sword.
One can motivate you to perform well. On the other hand, it can cause you unnecessary anxiety and slow you down.
It's important to educate yourself about what constitutes perfectionism and why it's seen as a keeping you broke.

Genecia Alluora: Hello, gorgeous, and welcome to today's episode. And today I'm talking about how perfectionism is keeping you broke. Now, this is a problem with that kind of thinking. I mean, it's not realistic or even necessary in order to be rich. Sometimes when we think that we have to be this, have to be that, in order to know that our life will be perfect. I must have my designer clothes, I must have an organized and efficient way to run my Facebook to my office will always be tidy. I'll be very kind to everyone. I must make time to learn new hobbies and just generally everything to be perfect, to be the perfect, soul rich woman. You know what?

Genecia Alluora: Just remember that millionaires still worry about money some days and billionaires still go to toilet just like anyone else. Some still struggle with their weight, their self esteem. They get divorced and generally lead the same kind of lives as anyone. The difference is they just have more money because are you delaying your flow of abundance because you are overthinking it too much? Because perfectionism is a real true problem that I see in so many women that I speak with. And we have coach and mentored. I think this is more of a female thing than a male thing. We just need to justify and deserve everything that comes to us. We are so super critical of ourselves that we think we should fundamentally change before the universe reward us. It's like, only if I'm a good girl, then I have this.

Genecia Alluora: If I'm perfect, then he will love me more. Something along those lines. And my desk is often really quite messy. In my own studio, my table is not the cleanest. I have my papers, I have my heart disk, I have my earrings, my hair clips, everything that's possible that's on the table, right? And my partner would tease me and say, is this the desk of a millionaire? And then sometimes I feel really bad about it until I see a photo gallery of desk of famous people. Some were incredibly neat, others were messy as hell. There was literally no correlation between you are neat and perfect equals to being rich and being wealthy. And then I realized having a messy desk wouldn't prevent you from being rich.

Genecia Alluora: If you were messy before, you'd be messy after. And it's just your personality. So you don't have to give up or be perfect any part of yourself to be rich. Accept your mindset. So, only piece of Marie Kondo advice I will say, does this buck joy to have limiting beliefs in your brain? That would be the only thing I will use the Marie Kondo method to declap in your mind so that you can be rich, right? Give yourself permission to be exactly as you are and rich. As I always say, you have a diamond that is within you and you deserve to shine. Don't put rich or successful people on the pedestal and think that they're perfect, find mentors who admit to their faults and is vulnerable. Then they give you behind the scenes of how their businesses really work.

Genecia Alluora: Unfortunately, some groups of the personal development industry love to show a glossy exterior to the world, live beyond their means to show off or exaggerate their lifestyle. You know what? This perpetuates the myth of the perfect life. The thing is, you don't need to be perfect to be rich. In fact, you will still need to be you. Just a richer version of you. Just a richer version of you. A soul rich woman. Or would I say a soul richer woman. Your fundamental personality won't change at all. And I'll tell you how mine has changed over the last few years. I'm still the same person, but not everything has remained the same since becoming wealthier. A few things, yeah. This is my own opinion, okay? I'm much pickier about people I hang out with.

Genecia Alluora: I choose the people I spend my time with. Like, now that COVID has happened, coronavirus has happened, zoom has become a norm, right? But yes, I've been using Zoom. So now people say, I want to meet you. I just, okay, let's meet over Zoom. And only the very important ones. And the people I think that it's worth my time that I would want to meet them in person. Otherwise, other than the social distancing and the things that's happening, I would pick the people I hang out with. Because really, since becoming wealthier, these have changed. I can choose and I would choose.

Genecia Alluora: And second thing is, I'm intolerant of people who overstep my boundaries. Like, for example, people who defaults my payments, clients who request out of my schedule to do coaching or stuff with them. I am intolerant of people who overstep my boundaries, really. And I'm much clearer on my purpose in the world. And I would like to serve people in a way that I would like to serve them in my zone of genius. And I'm totally okay with saying no. And I no longer and I don't give away my time for free unless there is a special meaning to it. And also, I'm no longer bothered about people pleasing. You like me. You like me. You don't like me. So what? I move on.

Genecia Alluora: So apart from that, I'm the same Genecia. The same Genecia as you know, or same genesis as my friends will know me, the introverted Gemini I've always been. Everything else has just come with experience and not money. But there are things that happen as well. I don't always remember to set my goals every day. Sometimes I don't have perfect thoughts all the time. I'm not perfect with money. Now, if you think that the current you and the future richer you are completely separate, then you're delaying the future, because you could be pushing away your wealth with an underlying message that I'm not confident. I'm not worthy. I'm not worthy yet. The universe come back later. Now, if this is resonating with you, then congratulations.

Genecia Alluora: Because awareness is the first step to give yourself permission to be richer. Now, why don't you try this mantra? So I'm going to say this, all right? Even though I'm not perfect, even though I false, even though insert a bad habit in this statement, even though I'm not good with money, even though I'm flawed, even though I'm not ready, even though I don't deserve it yet. Even though my success has been a joke, even though I've not truly earned it yet, even though so this is an even though statement that I want you to try to tell yourself when you have this perfectionism monster appearing. Even though I'm not perfect, even though I'm false, even though in such a bad habit statement, even though I'm not good with money, even though I'm flawed, even though I'm not ready yet, even though I don't deserve it yet. Even though my success has been a joke, even though I've not truly earned it yet.
