Adam (00:09): Amy Evans understands the importance of a powerful story. As the host of the Women in Sales Leadership podcast and a founder and CEO of her own leadership coaching firm, Amy is constantly helping CEOs, founders, and executives carve out ways to be remembered.
In a world where content is flowing from every single corner of the internet and our feeds are overwhelmed with people trying to tell you a specific message, Amy knows that the only way to stand out is to be remembered.
She realizes that remembrance comes from being present in the moment. She has a simple framework that she uses to ensure that she's getting the most out of every conversation maximizing the opportunity with every person that she meets.
Within moments of meeting Amy, I was immediately drawn in by her magnetism. She made me feel like I was the only person in the room. And I have a feeling she does that with every single person she speaks with. I asked her one simple question. What's the framework that changed your life and how can others implement it?
Amy Evans (01:23): So Adam, to tell you about the framework that changed my career, you want to know about it. I'll give it to you. It is three things. first one is always listen to your gut. Like I've learned to trust my gut and that has changed everything for me. The second one is just listen in general, being present with people, being in the moment with them changes everything. I don't care if you're capital conversation you're pitching yourself in a new role. You're trying to jillion dollar deal for your Listening and being present is the key. And the third one is learn how to tell your story. And this is how you tell your story. You talk the situation, like what happened when you first got there, you got on the scene and what was going on, what did you do fix it and what were the results? And you tell this story in the most human talking to a friend way because the data, you can ask dentists, you can ask Harvard researchers.
people are 22 more times more likely to remember your story than anything else that you tell about yourself. And as long as you listen to your gut, you listen, you're present, and you can tell your story, that is gonna take you so much further no matter whether you are landing a new role, getting your next round of VC funding, or trying to win your next big deal.
