VO: “The Nebraska Crossing Mall, which is known for its exceptional outdoor shopping experience, has momentum for a jaw-dropping expansion. Nebraska legislation shows that Legislative Bill 727 has been approved by state legislators and now only needs permission from Gretna residents to begin building this 1,000-acre expansion. For most residents of Gretna and Nebraska as a whole, this comes as a surprise. Ben Morse, a resident of Lincoln and experienced shopper at Nebraska Crossing is thrilled about the coming expansion.

BEN: “My buddy has been talking about it the last few days, I know he’s pretty excited and it got me riled up but I think people will support it in the aspect of they are really trying to grow the community around Gretna and the surrounding areas, especially going into Omaha and I think that the expansion would in part do that in growing the community.”

VO: “While the new expansion boasts new retail stores, sporting facilities, and an entertainment district, there are those still on the fence. Zach Player who has lived his whole life in Gretna is unsure if legislators are choosing the right path.”

ZACH: “I think that it would be a way better turnout in Omaha. More people would come to Omaha. It would be like a more casual thing for people to come to Omaha to shop, and hang out with friends, I think that would be better for the city that way.”

VO: “Gretna residents will have the opportunity to vote on the potential new project nicknamed “the Good Life District” during the next special election held in Gretna. Reporting for 90.3 KRNU this is Braden Sorbin.”
